Blu Homes, a high-tech modern eco-friendly homes company, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Human Resources based in our Vallejo, CA location. Blu is the leading designer and manufacturer of beautiful and ecologically friendly, modern, prefab homes, and offers a broad product line of homes and small accessory buildings available across the US (www.bluhomes.com).
The Director of HR (West Coast) role entails providing guidance and oversight for a wide variety of activities in human resources for our west coast facilities. Working as part of a national HR team, this ?hands on role? requires day to day participation in areas including but not limited to: recruiting on all levels, benefits administration ? orientation ? compensation ? employee relations, safety, compliance and ADP HRB administration.
The Director of Human Resources (West Coast) leads company Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. In addition, the implementation of services, policies, and programs especially in our west coast facilities; and assists and advises company managers and supervisors about Human Resources issues.
The position is full-time, exempt and requires working extended hours as needed to get the job done. Candidates with an interest or understanding of growing a startup company, and/or experience with high tech companies, are preferred. Strong experience in a manufacturing setting with a proficiency in California Employment Law is required.

Strong recruiting and staffing for all positions; Hourly to VP Level

Weekly local travel to our San Francisco location;
Occasional overnight travel to our other offices in Michigan and Massachusetts, overnight travel less than 15%;

Experience:
Bachelor?s degree in HR, Business or other related field;
Minimum 15 years recent experience working in HR management of which at least 5 years are as a Manager or Director in a human rsources department in a manufacturing setting;
Experience working as a sole HR practitioner preferred;
Weekly local travel to our San Francisco location, o
Experience recruiting, Engineers, IT Technical roles, Construction and Project Managers, Architects and designers and skilled and unskilled labor for a manufacturing environment;
Experience as a generalist or other specific areas of HR is a plus;
Occasional travel to our multi-state locations. Travel is less than 10%.
Compensation: Salary based on experience, plus stock options, and benefits package.
