Medical Simulation Corporation (MSC) is a recognized leader in providing full-service simulation-based training services to hospital personnel, medical product manufacturers, and medical societies. As an organization, we develop, sell, and deliver simulation-based training and consulting services to the medical device and healthcare provider market.
The IT Manager?s role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. The IT Manager will plan, coordinate, direct and design IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. The IT Manager will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The IT Manager will also define and implement IT policies, procedures and best practices.
The Strategic Leadership portion of the job will include the following:
Lead the IT department?s operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
Provide input to the strategic direction of IT, directly influencing the business direction in new and existing products and systems.
Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
Coordinate and drive the business relationship with key internal partners and significant external partners.
Benchmark, analyze, report on and make recommendations for the improvement and evolution of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization?s executives, department heads and end users regarding pertinent IT activities
Evaluate external advancements and trends within the IT industry to improve customer/user satisfaction, reduce operating expenses and maximize revenues, while maintaining consistently high service levels.
Support but not lead the technology decisions of the product development group.
Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals and office automation equipment.
Direct implementation and execution of new/upgraded information systems via well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines, and accountability.
Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
Manage financial aspects of the IT department, including purchasing, budgeting and budget review.
Approve and oversee projects and project portfolio.
Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision.
Develop requests for proposals for projects warranting such.
Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer and consultant contracts and service agreements.
Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation and disciplinary actions.
Establish and nurture a service-oriented culture within the IT department, with the objective of providing courteous, professional, timely and responsive support to internal and external ?customers?.
Develop/select and conduct user training on an as-needed basis.
We are looking for the following competencies and skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field.
Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
Strategy and planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 12-24 month time span.
Strong technical knowledge of telecommunications, network and PC operating systems.
Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards.
Extensive application support experience.
Information systems development and implementation.
Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
Employee training and development.
Technical skills and experience in Local and Wide Area Networks.
Strong customer orientation.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience developing high performance teams , including supervisory experience.
