Opportunity: Director of Interactive Patient Care Integrations
The Director of Interactive Patient Care (IPC) Integration serves a key role in GetWellNetwork?s Outcomes Consulting team responsible for leading the implementation of the clinical practice design and integration strategy at contracted client sites. GetWellNetwork?s IPC Outcomes Consulting Group offers a variety of consulting services including: Clinical Practice Design, Unit Based Patient Satisfaction Strategy, IPC Leadership Structure and Development and Education Content Audit and Gap Analysis.
GetWellNetwork clients contract for these consulting services to assist in integrating and hardwiring IPC into daily clinical practice and hospital operations. The Senior Director IPC Outcomes and Clinical Innovation Consultant will lead the design phase of the consulting engagement resulting in a detailed strategy which will include the client?s clinical practice design, change management, leadership development and patient satisfaction plans. The Director, IPC Integration will partner with the Senior Director during the strategy formulation stage and will be responsible for leading the implementation of the strategy at the client site following completion of phase I of the consulting engagement.
The primary role of the Director, IPC Integration is to assure the successful implementation of the clinical practice and integration strategy with the client for a period of 90-days following the design (first) phase of the engagement. This position reports to SVP/Chief Outcomes Officer and covers clients in the western half of the United States. Additionally, this person will work closely with the Senior Directors, Outcomes and Clinical Innovation staff covering the western region of the country.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with GetWellNetwork?s Project Team to plan, guide and oversee the configuration of clinical and patient care pathways and the unit based patient satisfaction strategy.
Establish and communicate a timeline for completing the pathway configuration internally (GetWellNetwork) and to the client.
Serve as the Liaison between the client and GetWellNetwork?s project team on change orders, project timelines, data collection, exchange of information and on-site testing.
Work with GetWellNetwork?s Interface team to define Interface needs based on the client?s clinical practice design and serve as a liaison between the client and the interface team to assure timely completion and activation of the prioritized interfaces.
Develop a formal ?Interface Needs? document outlining the integration requirements, timing and priorities.
Develop and manage a detailed project plan for implementing the clinical practice design and integration strategy with the client:
Provide clarity on the tactical plan, responsible party and timeframes associated with implementation of the strategy.
Communicate and coordinate implementation of the clinical practice design and integration strategy with GetWellNetwork?s Implementation team to assure alignment of timelines and expectations, and to ensure a coordinated, timely approach to go-live and training.
Provide the leadership and oversight to ensure timely execution against the project plan.
Provide regular updates and routine status reports to key constituents at the client site.
Assist Client in developing and executing a communication plan that:
Communicates the organization?s strategy to various audiences (leaders, staff, physicians, volunteers, community)
Establishes a context for the training and roll-out with key messages
Supports the organization?s change management efforts around IPC
Assists in development of communication materials such as Leadership Talking Points, Leadership PowerPoint?s for staff meetings, training materials, welcome video script, etc.
Assist and guide the client in setting up leadership structures defined in the strategy to include development of agendas and attendance at initial meetings to get the client on the right track.
Work with the Client to create an ?Accountability Management Plan? appropriate for the client based on its structure, culture and the magnitude of change with the implementation of an IPC Care Delivery Model.
Clarify roles and responsibilities
Assure competency among leaders on use of GetWellNetwork?s Management Console
Provide coaching to senior leaders as appropriate
Arrange for development of custom reports as desired or requested by client
Train a client identified data manager to develop and provide routine reports to leadership.
Facilitate the development and oversight of a change management plan for the client working with assigned key resources at the client site (e.g. HR Executive or change management team).
Partner with an identified clinical leader at the client site to set up and establish an IPC Champions Program.
Plan, oversee and participate in all aspects of staff training on the redesigned clinical practice workflows to include:
Development of a cascading training plan
Over see, develop where needed and use training materials relevant to the Client?s strategy to include: Training Guide, Competency Assessment, Training Video (if purchased with Consulting)
Provide service management training to relevant staff and departments consistent with the Unit Based Satisfaction Plan developed for the client.
Work with appropriate nursing unit and ancillary/support departmental leaders to establish a service recovery strategy to include agreement on service level response times.
Other duties as required for successful implementation of the IPC Clinical Practice Design and Integration Strategy.
Establishes high performance standards, provides leadership and guidance on Management by Objectives (MBO) attainment.
Empowers the IPCM through coaching, training and access to information enabling them to be effective in handling the majority of situations.
Recruits a world class IPC Manager Team, establishes high performance standards and provides ongoing coaching, career development and guidance on MBO attainment.
Ensures IPC Managers receive appropriate training to permit them to directly assist in onsite troubleshooting, information gathering and fulfillment of configuration and content requests enabling rapid response for their clients.
Assist in definition and development of company customer service policy.
Works collaboratively in partnership within GetWellNetwork to contribute to process improvements, policies, tools or resources to enhance the client experience.
Required Skills
Strong organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple projects with varying timelines simultaneously.
Strong project management skills and experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to present to a variety of audiences and varying in size.
Demonstrated ability to prepare presentations that succinctly communicate the strategy, implementation plan and change management plans for the client organization in various settings (Board, Medical Staff, Executive Leadership, Management, Staff)
Demonstrated capability to think and plan both strategically and tactically.
Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise sound independent judgment.
Required Experience
Bachelors Degree; preference given to business administration and/or health care administration emphasis.
Minimum 5 years experience in a hospital management role with a focus on operational and strategic plan implementation.
Preference given to an individual who has served in an administrative capacity to a hospital nursing organization.
Must be willing and able to travel an estimated 65% of the time (3.5 days/week)
May require overnight travel
Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and collaborate with senior level hospital and health system leadership.
