Job Description:
Soraa is the worlds leading developer of solid-state lighting technology built on pure gallium nitride substrates, commonly referred to as GaN on GaN. Only Soraa uses a pure GaN crystal to create simply perfect light. Soraas flagship product is the highest-performance LED MR16 halogen replacement lamp on the market. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of IT for Soraa will have overall responsibility for strategy, implementation and operations of a world class IT operation supporting the needs of an innovative, high growth leader in the CleanTech space. The goal is for the IT leader to contribute measurably to the productivity and effectiveness of Soraas employees, as well as support excellent decision making and cross functional integration. The Director of IT will manage the strategy, planning, implementation and operations of the IT business with a strong emphasis on operations and logistics.
The Director will be an industry leader in the successful deployment of leading technologies from an operations and logistics orientation with prior experience in the specification, qualification installation and deployment of ERP and other operationally focused IT systems. The Director will support the companys short and long term objectives by building, leading and directing the planning, implementation, and operations of IT applications and infrastructure systems, in a scalable and cost beneficial manner. The executive will drive the growth and excellence of our Soraas technology organization, processes, systems and infrastructure and offer a best in industry organization in collaboration with the COO. The primary goals will be scaling Soraa to its maximum potential and to position the company as a recognized leader in LED technology.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Provides strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, execution and coordination of IT applications and infrastructure to ensure all are proactively responsive to the needs of the companys growth and objectives.
? Manage, from an IT perspective, the implementation and support of SAP manufacturing & financial applications hosted externally, including integration with Salesforce and other SaaS and in house developed custom applications.
? Develop a strategic applications plan for Soraa to implement a full complement of SaaS applications for each business function, including eventual migration from SAP to a SaaS comprehensive ERP manufacturing application suite.
? Implement IT integration technologies, such as single signon, master data management, etc., across SaaS and custom developed applications.
? Develop and implement a plan for an effective enterprise data warehouse to support strategic and tactical information needs for executive management as well as operational functions.
? Advises executive management on strategic systems direction, operations, conversion and integration; Oversees infrastructure and computer operations of the companys management information systems, including offices, corporate data resource, applications, networks and security programs.
? Directs the financial management and budgeting for information systems and technology.
? Review and approve major contracts for technology services and equipment.
? Communicate effectively the vision and direction of the company to both the business and IT partners.
? Develop trusted partnerships that are sustained by aligning the business strategies with IT investments and business goals.
? Provide leadership, development coaching / consultation as needed to the Business to accelerate impact.
? Deploy measurement system to track and report progress of operating plan to business.
Experience and Skills:
10-20 years experience managing, directing/leading IT operations, preferably within a high technology manufacturing company from an operational and logistical systems perspective.
? Ability to solve complex technical, managerial or operational problems and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources, experience and knowledge.
? Experience implementing and/or supporting SAP ERP (mfg. and financials) in a manufacturing environment, including configuration and version upgrades.
? Experience successfully implementing and supporting manufacturing business applications in an outsourced Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment (hybrid integrated in-house/outsourced manufacturing environment a plus).
? Experience managing IT infrastructure, such as PC support, LAN, security, help desk, backup and recovery.
? Skilled in strategic planning, budgeting, IT resource management, cost/benefit analysis, selection and implementation of technology, vendor management and cost control and business continuity/disaster recovery.
? Experience designing and developing global IT operations.
? Experience in semiconductor manufacturing and/or green tech/clean tech a plus.
? Effective skills in negotiation, contracting and change management.
? Ability to recruit, manage and motivate teams to produce quality outcomes within tight timeframes; manage several complex projects simultaneously.
? Led and directed the operation of a major IT organization within a geographically diverse company is highly preferred.
? Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels in a team-oriented environment.
