Director of IT Operations MerchantCircle, Inc.

MerchantCircle is seeking a Director IT Operations. The ideal candidate is looking for an opportunity to work in a high growth, fast paced company with an opportunity to create the technical environment to support the companys rapid growth as a leader in the local space.

The Director IT Operations is responsible for managing and maintaining the companys production environment, supporting its core systems along with the successful integration of new systems and operating platforms acquired as part of the companys growth strategy. The Director IT Operations will report to the VP Engineering and will work very closely with other teams within the company including marketing, product management and administration.

Responsibilities will include:

- Manage high volume web application environments
- Establish and monitor database replication and back-up processes
- Experience with scalable mail delivery systems
- Should be familiar with capacity planning for NoSQL datastores.
- Experience with site and system-level failover strategies
- Experience with application deployment, resource deployments to CDNs.
- Successful at coordinating and collaborating with local and remote IT teams establishing strong working relationships across all MerchantCircle operations
- Ability to build and manage a high performance IT operations team

The ideal candidate has:

- 5+ years technical operations experience running an online operations team
- Understanding of high volume web applications support
- Excellent oral and written skills
- A BA/BS degree in Computer Science or engineering degree preferred
- A track record of driving results
- Experience working in a small to medium sized Internet company
- Experience working in a dynamic agile development environment
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Excellent judgment in making tradeoffs and finding simple solutions to complex problems
- A can-do, roll-up-the sleeves attitude
