This is an exciting opportunity to transform ShapeUp?s Logistics from a ?service? to a revenue-generating entity. This is a dynamic role in a rapidly growing company, with a great culture and smart dedicated people. The Director of Logistics role is a full-time, exempt position, reporting to the CFO.

Control inventory management and distribution processes to achieve high customer service levels, minimize backorder levels, improve working capital, order fulfillment, and inventory.
Evaluate suppliers? lead time, pricing, and reliability and develop new/multiple supply sources as needed to enhance product competitiveness
Oversee the logistics and distribution partners to ensure all processes are followed and best practices are observed
Coordinate and work with Product department to develop innovative device offerings for clients
Contract with distribution partners and device manufacturers.
Identify new suppliers to fill operational gaps, contract discussions, and supplier performance
Establish direction on information management systems and work effectively with the IT team to improve current logistics and distribution processes and information management systems
Develop implementation of distribution best practices such as systems integration and optimization, inventory/coverage control & reporting, demand planning, and SKU optimization
Monitor, report and resolve any logistic issues concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer orders
Work with distribution company in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation
Monitor product import processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements
Ensure all Customs requirements and regulations are met for international shipments as well as payment of duties and taxes
Recommend purchase of new or improved technology, such as automated systems
Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios
Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting and product
Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers
Develop and maintain metrics for shipping and logistics
Develop reports and key performance criteria to evaluate all logistics partners at regular intervals
Conduct or review environmental audits for logistics activities, such as storage, distribution, or transportation
Full budget development and control for logistics team and transportation costs
Reconcile inventory and responsible for all shipments bulk, individual, international and domestic.
Minimum of seven years? experience in the logistics field
Knowledge and experience with the principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
Possesses business and management skills involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Capacity to build relationships internally & externally
Ability to coordinate/prioritize multiple tasks within tight deadlines
Excellent project management/organization/analytical skills as well as attention to detail
Possesses strong negotiation skills
Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
