This position will be accountable for developing and implementing a global marketing communications strategy. This dynamic position requires strategic thinking, hands-on implementation, strong management, communications and inter-personal skills combined with a life sciences/med device background. Keys to success will involve ensuring that the Marketing Communications team has the processes and competencies to define, deliver and communicate our value proposition to our customers. This position will be working in a corporate environment, liaising with counterparts throughout the Company.
Responsibilities
Develop the marketing communications strategy for ITH Technologies including:
- Choose, develop and manage outside agencies.
- Ensure the right marketing vehicles are used to reach target markets.
- Monitor and keep up to date with the most current and dynamic set of marketing tools available and develop plans to utilize
those where appropriate.
- Develop the right mix of outsourcing and in-house resources to ensure that ITH can maximize the Marketing Communications
budget as cost effectively as possible.
- Build, manage and develop a Marketing Communications staff to ensure that all programs are delivered on time and on budget.
Manage to maintain high level of productivity, efficiency and proficiency. Establish strategic direction for future evolution of
Marketing Communications. Assess current team, identify & address gaps and challenges to ensure that a first-class team is built.
Evaluate and shift resources based upon business needs for the future. Ensure department is current in regards to technology to
advance program capabilities and improve program efficiencies.
- Coordinate the overall Marketing Communications plan development to ensure that the plan meets or exceeds ITH's annual strategic
objectives.
- Develop and implement annual Marketing Communications plans, directing customer acquisition, image building, tracking and
measuring results, and ensuring that our branding/marketing communications are focused.
- Provide overall image, branding and corporate identity direction for all Marketing Communications. Develop and direct brand
strategy and management. Ensure that overall branding/marketing communications follows corporate guidelines.
- In conjunction with the Marketing Department, develop Marketing Communications strategies, including optimization of media
vehicles, mix, frequency and timing, and develop and manage budgets and annual plans to meet business/financial objectives.
- Contribute to the planning of Corporate Communications (including investor and public relations).
- Responsible for setting direction for external vendors/agencies; ensure annual reviews of quality, service and pricing for all vendors.
- Ensure consistency across worldwide promotional programs.
- Oversee customer acquisition/retention strategies and the management & implementation of customer database and loyalty program.
- Analyze metrics, quantify customer needs and impressions about current activities, and report on their effectiveness. Develop,
communicate and oversee implementation of effective monitors related to key program activities and budget execution. Proofread
and edit all copy.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage and supervise three to five employees in Marketing Communications. Responsible for the
overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the business unit. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning
and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education Requirements:
- BA/BSc or higher in Marketing Communications or related field
- Masters degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
Experience & Special Knowledge:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a medical device/ life sciences marketing communications role
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory/management experience
- Track record in developing and delivering marketing communications strategies
- Advanced knowledge of all areas of marketing communications including communications strategy, creative project management,
graphic design, exhibit management, advertising / media buying, public relations, eMarketing, etc.
- Advanced writing, editing, proofreading skills and presentation skills
- Track record of managing a marcom budget
- Direct knowledge and experience of marketing communications in a Medical Device/ Life Science environment
- Should have working knowledge of database software, current Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing / design software.
Should have in-depth knowledge of PowerPoint.
- In-depth knowledge of design software
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, plus experience of using these skills in leading, motivating and inspiring
cross-functional teams
- Proven success integrating resources across complex functions (sales, marketing, product development, manufacturing) and across
multiple geographies to over deliver on customer needs
