Position Summary:
The Director of Marketing will be responsible for overseeing MINDBODY?s global marketing efforts including: lead generation activities through tradeshows, advertising, SEO, SEM, email campaigns, and social media campaigns. As well as branding, website content and user experience, public and media relations, and creative design.
Additionally, the Director of Marketing will develop effective sales tools for our internal sales teams and co-marketing business partners.? This individual will work with the Director of Sales and Director of Business Development to create, implement and drive integrated marketing and sales programs that drive market interest and sales lead generation while ensuring consistent messaging and communication inside and outside the organization.?
The Director of Marketing will:
Develop and implement marketing strategy.
Create marketing campaigns that drive leads to the sales team and create consistent revenue growth.
Play a key role in company strategy, planning, execution, and evaluation of traditional, Internet, and electronic marketing programs that attract new clients and up-sell our existing client base.
Provide guidance to the team managers of the marketing department?s various disciplines and collaborate with them to accomplish the company?s strategic goals and initiatives.
Inspire marketing excellence within the marketing team and support/promote project and program ownership within the department?s various disciplines while encouraging team collaboration.
Performance Objectives:
Prepare and implement annual marketing plan and double the marketing budget for 2013.
Maintain MINDBODY?s 70% year-over-year growth by driving twice as many leads YOY to the sales team; increasing lead generation domestically and across all international markets.
Analyze lead generation monthly with a detailed channel analysis report to CSMO.
Take a management lead on organizing an interdepartmental initiative to increase Average Revenue per Subscriber.
Develop a new 2013 marketing campaign with the marketing team.
Double the number of marketing leads for salon vertical in six months.
Utilize all marketing subscription tools and analyze how to effectively use them.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform and is not intended to be all-inclusive.
Directly supervise five autonomous team managers. Motivate, coach, develop, and retain a team of at least fifteen marketing professionals.
Serve as a ?critical-optimist,' providing positive, constructive feedback to the Marketing Team.
Oversee market research efforts, monitor competitive activity, and identify client and prospect marketing needs.
Establish success metrics and performance indicators, and track results to calculate ROI on all marketing programs.?
Ensure integrated approaches to marketing projects and programs across marketing disciplines.
Encourage marketing staff to individually expand on industry education, news, and best practices.
Perform ongoing managerial duties, including:
o Lead weekly meeting.
o Review weekly written reports by each marketing team manager.
o Review each team manager?s performance on a quarterly basis; collaborate with managers to provide a written review of each team member to CSMO every quarter.
o Provide CSMO with a weekly synopsis of what was accomplished during the week, and plans for the following week.
Marketing Department Disciplines:
The Director of Marketing will collaborate with the marketing team managers to accomplish the strategic goals outlined in the annual marketing plan, and accompanying initiatives as developed throughout the year. Five managers oversee the various marketing disciplines described below.
Creative Design
The creative team designs and implements all visual style elements of MINDBODY?s marketing efforts including video, advertising, print materials, and graphic design. Advertising placement, budgeting, and related lead tracking are also managed through this team. The creative team?s primary goal for 2013 is to expand and update the company?s overarching marketing campaign.
Communications
The communications team oversees the implementation of MINDBODY?s ?voice? as well as provides copywriting and editing for all marketing channels including advertisements, email, online search, press releases, blogs, white papers, website, etc. In 2013, the communications team will focus on expanding the company?s public relations and viral marketing campaigns.
Online
The online team manages all website design, content, and structure enhancements as well as the company?s social media, email, and client referral campaigns. The team?s 2013 goals are to continue to improve website performance and to expand the company?s social and permission marketing campaigns.
Search Engine Marketing
The SEM team is responsible for developing, implementing and analyzing MINDBODY?s online search campaigns, including keyword selection, ad text, paid search, and SEO as well as monitoring and reporting online analytics and lead tracking statistics. In 2013, the online search team will continue to explore improvements to search campaigns that contribute to lowering the cost of client acquisition.
Tradeshows
The tradeshow/events team is responsible for identifying, planning, implementing, and evaluating the success of MINDBODY?s participation in approximately fifty domestic and international tradeshows each year. For 2013, the events team will develop an updated tradeshow theme and continue to expand the company?s tradeshow presence internationally across all top tier verticals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
7 ? 10+ ? years of experience working in the marketing discipline: developing, managing, and executing broad-based marketing strategies in each of the MINDBODY marketing disciplines outlined above.
4+ years of team management experience.
Bachelor?s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Proven experience with developing and successfully implementing global marketing programs for web-based software products and services with CRM, web analytics, and marketing resource management solutions.
Proven experience using software services such as Marin, Webtrends, and Eloqua.
Demonstrated ability to operate in a rapidly growing company and fast-paced environment, balancing both strategic and tactical responsibilities.
Knowledge of current technology trends and progressive business management styles.

SCOPE OF SUPERVISION/AUTHORITY:
This position is a management professional position. Responsibilities and decision making duties are performed with minimal supervision. The focus of this role is on creating and influencing strategy and policy. The potential impact of decisions made by this individual has significant operational or financial impact. This individual will apply in-depth knowledge to solve broad issues that are complex in scope, and establish medium- to long- range plans. This position will directly supervise a team, as well as work with and influence cross-department team members.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit at a desk for extended periods of time, use hands and fingers, read a computer monitor, and talk and hear. May be required to lift and pack boxes of 25 pounds on an intermittent basis. The noise level in this environment is usually moderate.
OTHER:
This position is located in San Luis Obispo, CA and includes a minimum of 40 hours a week.
