Our clients are the largest brand advertisers in the world and they rely on TubeMogul to help them navigate the complex landscape of digital video. The Director of Media Strategy will lead our global Media Strategy team and work closely with our clients and sales team to craft winning proposals for our digital video ad services. Proposals include detailed media plans, compelling presentations and relevant packaging of targeting options. The Media Strategy team acts as the nexus of TubeMogul ? matching the capabilities of our solution with the needs of our clients.
We are looking for an expert media planning leader that knows exactly what it takes to win in the competitive world of digital video advertising. This role is extremely fast-paced with non-stop client requests and requires excellent business judgment and rapid decision-making. This position is based in either Emeryville, CA (HQ) or New York, NY (near Union Square).
Oversee and mentor a team of 12 ? 14 Media Strategists to create compelling client-specific proposals, media plans and presentations
Partner closely with sales leadership and regional sales teams to synthesize feedback from the field and continually optimize our planning strategies
Attend client meetings as a senior resource to articulate our media strategy and build a knowledge base of client needs and objectives
Develop and enforce strategies that enhance media pricing, packaging, bundling and proposal optics to increase win rates
Enhance proposals with marketing led case studies and research that can be incorporated into RFP deliverables
Collaborate with Business Development to enhance audience targeting and reach capabilities
Lead the development and rollout of tools, processes and analytics that increase team throughput and win rates
5-7 years of experience in media strategy and/or media planning and buying, preferably with an agency or network focused on digital video
Deep proficiency with contextual and behavioral targeting options, audience verification and media pricing models, including GRP
Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex campaign requirements into media proposal that win at scale
Deep understanding of brand marketing and how brands use various digital advertising mediums to convey their messages to specific audiences
Media math expertise
Ability to think outside the box and develop creative media packaging solutions
Outstanding leadership qualities including the ability to motivate teams and influence others
Experience leading a global team with a demonstrated track record of exceeding team goals
Understanding of real-time bidding, DSPs/SSPs/DMPs, ad exchanges etc. preferred
Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills
BA/BS degree, Master degree preferred
