Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Achieve expertise in the endoscopic skills and clinical decision-making necessary to provide training for physicians, nurses, and Covidien GI Solutions personnel related to the HALO Ablation System.
Build relationships with physician customers by acting as a peer resource by traveling to their institutions for one on one meetings and departmental presentations of the data relevant to the HALO Ablation System.
Provide technical support for the HALO Ablation System.
Represent Covidien GI Solutions at national and international meetings by participating in clinical discussions, assisting in live demonstrations and fostering education and adoption efforts in the exhibit hall.
Support ongoing efforts to grow the body of scientific literature on the therapeutic approach to Barrett's esophagus by assisting physicians, when asked, to produce a steady stream of quality abstracts and publications.
Master the Barrett's esophagus literature regarding disease pathophysiology, diagnosis and management.
Become expert in reporting and processing the outcomes of trials involving medical devices produced by Covidien GI Solutions as well as other ablative modalities.
Participate in the invention and strategic implementation of Covidien GI Solutions products in new disease states.
Work within the company to provide marketing support (sales materials & videos), assist in quality assurance activities (complaints, failure analysis, MDRs) and contribute to the medical policy advocacy efforts of the reimbursement team.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
This position is appropriate for a physician who has recently finished a medical or surgical residency or fellowship training program, although a candidate in the midst of training or practice would also be considered.
It would be an ideal opportunity for an MD with an interest in the medical device field to have an inroad to this business and learn firsthand from our experienced medical affairs team.
Travel will be required about 60% of the time with most domestic, but some international.
Candidates throughout the US will be considered; ideal location will be in the Midwest.

MD degree
Combined MD-MBA welcomed
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Usual office environment with frequent- sitting, walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, balancing, stooping and occasional- climbing.
Frequent- use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery.
Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally- and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
-Occasional: Activity exists less than 1/3 of the time.
-Frequent: Activity exists between 1/3 and 2/3 of the time.
