Sunburst Digital is looking for a great Android development lead to help build a product that is going change the way kids learn. If you've got amazing Android and web development skills and are ready to take on a foundational role in a venture that is rapidly growing and will realize a tremendous potential, we want to talk to you.You will be leading a small team of Android developers, collaborating with the current Director of Software Systems and other senior management stakeholders. You will manage a day-to-day software development life cycle of the team to ensure delivery product milestones are on time and of high quality. You will keep business and management teams informed on progress along the way.
In addition to Android development, you will have the opportunity to work and gain technical knowledge on a span of technologies, including java, web/application servers, C# development for Windows 8 Metro apps, XML, web services, as well as other new and evolving technologies.
Development for KnowItAll is challenging and rewarding. Creating products that facilitate success in the classroom is unlike any other kind of software development. It requires a special kind attention to simplicity, design, user experience, intuitive application, and practical understanding of the environment teachers work in.
We strive to make sense of that world and provide teachers with the tools they need most. We believe that more effective teachers create a better world and want that belief to be reflected in everything we make.
KnowItAll is being developed in a distributed environment. Our management team collaborates online and in the field to inform better design and develop requirements that meet true market needs.
We're fielding a small nucleus of development specialists around our Austin, TX office to lead the creative and technical aspects of KnowItAll development. From Austin we work with near-shore outsource teams and a senior mobile development team based in Cardiff, UK.
Our environment in Austin is flexible and informal. We run our business without any hangups apart from mutual trust and the value we place on exceptional performance.
Compensation starts at 100K DOE and the position offers the opportunity to acquire foundational equity in our venture.
