Summary:
Jawbone?s Supply Chain and ODM partners are critical to the successful introduction of new products and to sustain the quality and supply of existing products in 2012 and beyond. The Director of Operations and Manufacturing Technology will spend significant time in Asia managing manufacturing, operations, and manufacturing technology to support the growth in products and complexity inherent in our product roadmap.
Reporting Structure: Reports to Executive Director of Operations
Essential Functions:
Directs objective setting in collaboration with the operations executive team and co-manages the manufacturing operations and procurement functions of Jawbone China, including project and program management teams
Ensures the timely manufacturing and shipment of required quantity and quality of Jawbone products and accessories from China.
Achieve significant process and quality improvements at Jawbone ODM and supply chain partners
Identifies, vets, and is a key member of the qualification team for new ODM and supply chain partners
Manage the development and reporting of key operations metrics on a periodic basis.
Ensure that manufacturing programs drive continuous improvement and learning within Jawbone?s cross-functional product teams and throughout the supply chain
Drives identification, validation, and bring up of new manufacturing technology, with heavy emphasis on highly automated assembly and test systems.
Skills/Desired Experience:
Engineering or Technical Degree, BS, MS and/or MBA
Minimum 10-15 years of broad product technical design and/or manufacturing ?experience
Minimum 7-10 years of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Operations experience
Experience managing Asia-Pacific based ODM?s developing consumer electronic ?products
Knowledge of Factory Processes, Quality, Product Development, and Reliability Engineering
Ability to influence cross?functionally and culturally
Understanding of ISO 9000 Quality Management Requirements
Expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Quality methods
Ability to work independently with minimum direction
Excellent English verbal and writing skills ? secondary language skills in Mandarin ?Chinese and/or Spanish
Extensive international travel is required
