Essential Responsibilities

Oversees all aspects of distribution and transportation operations in addition to leading and managing shift supervisors and warehouse employees.
Duties in Detail

Develop policies and procedures for distribution processes in order to ensure optimization and compliance with established standards and regulations.
Ensure shipping, receiving, storage and distribution are performed in an efficient manner.
Take precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss and develops protection and access policies and procedures.
Responsible for recovering maximum value from returned merchandise through the company and other venues.
Meet warehouse financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
Directs all pick, pack and ship operations to include any required reporting and process improvement activities.
Responsible for all receiving activities as well as returnsthis includes organizing the warehouse for maximum use of available space.
Ensures most efficient scheduling of warehouse associates to provide adequate coverage especially during peak periods.
Coordinates logistics activities with all other departments esp. Sales & Marketing and Merchandising.
Improve warehouse layout, product flow and product handling systems. Evaluate and recommend new equipment and other overall logistics improvements.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years experience in the field of Operations & Logistics
Six Sigma experience (G. Belt or B. Belt) required.
Computer knowledge including Word and Excel.
Good planning and goal setting skills
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Demonstrates experience in a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures
