The Director of Operations, USC will work directly with the General Manager, USC to support and manage the strategy of our two USC partners ? the Rossier School of Education and the School of Social Work. The person we hire will share our passion for transforming how education is delivered. The Director of Operations serves as the primary liaison for all matters related to workflow, analysis, process and project management.
We are looking for someone who has a unique blend of experience; someone who will roll up their sleeves and take ownership, who has demonstrated success in a leadership role, who has experience in creating and improving processes, who can create systems requirements documents, who is technically and analytically minded, and who can effectively communicate and be comfortable both in the academic world and in a young fast-growing private company. This is a client-facing role that requires being able to balance multiple projects and priorities with a good degree of attention to detail.
Understand business process and structure; be able to communicate those processes clearly to internal team and University Partner
Manage and create workflow, processes and documentation in and between systems and groups
Manage integration of and updates to 2U and USC systems (such as Salesforce, OARS, Apply Yourself)
Manage cross-functional communications to ensure alignment between 2U and University Partner teams
Create and manage project plans which involves:
o Leading cross-functional requirements gathering and ultimately defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with the team
o Prioritizing project action items according to the needs of the business
o Maintaining the project road map or plan, including tracking milestones & deliverables
o Working across departments to provide visibility into project timelines and dependencies
o Setting and continually managing and communicating project expectations & progress with team member
o Proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying potential crises and devising contingency plan
Act as liaison between 2U and University Partner mid and senior level teams, including technology, admissions, post enrollment
Perform data analysis and compilation for process improvement, tracking and reporting purposes
Monitor business P&L and communicate with 2U team regarding impactful variances
Handle additional operational and administrative tasks as needed
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
Bachelor?s degree required
5+ years experience in an operations or project management role
Strong project management and organizational skills essential
Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential
Technical background preferred
Proven track record of managing projects within budget
Strong analytical, particularly quantitative skills
Excellent computer skills (MS Project, MS Visio, MS Office inclusive of Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
Focused on achieving defined results, and exceeding goals and objectives
Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
Enthusiasm, positivity and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change
