Athletes? Performance currently has an opening for a Director of PR and Communications. The position will be responsible for a wide range of brand building activities, internal & external communications: pr strategy, product & service marketing, trade marketing, media relations, multi-channel activation, and agency management.
This individual will garner significant experience in a fast growing, entrepreneurial environment that requires propensity for action and an enthusiasm for helping people get healthier, perform at their best, and achieve more in life.
We are trailblazing a new category and are looking for results-driven and visionary Brand Messiahs across our Brand Marketing, Communications, and Creative Excellence & Marketing Services teams to be part of this ride in building our brand.
The position will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities (What does success look like?)
Strategery: develop and implement comprehensive stakeholder communications and media relations program that is linked to the strategic brand and company objectives.
There?s no ?i? in team, but a ?we? in awesome: work with cross functional team to develop and execute programs, develop ideas, and share in the success of the team.
GID (Get It Done): wear many hats being responsible for ideating and implementing initiatives across: communications plans, press releases, corporate announcements, strategic partnership activities, multi-channel penetration both domestically and internationally. Manage implementation of brand communications plans and ensure execution excellence on behalf of internal resources and external PR agency.
Know somebody: utilize strong relationship skills to cultivate and manage media, industry decision-makers, and trade relationships on behalf of the company to activate speaking engagements, identify thought leadership opportunities, and ensure brand role and message comes through clear to targeted stakeholders.
Tweeter and a Fanner: execute communication strategy across multiple social media platforms (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, Blogs, etc.).
Ear to the ground: keep abreast of consumer and industry insights to develop and execute opportunistic execution and communications programming to help tell the brand story.
Wind beneath my wings: inspire and lead others with your work ethic, business results, intrapersonal skills, and willingness to see success based on team accomplishments vs. your individual achievements.
Brand marketing strategy: ability to internalize and utilize brand strategy to shape supportive communications.
Land the planes: provide a complete communications calendar to ensure team has proper time to develop and execute communications plans with excellence.
That rug really tied the room together: develop innovative and integrated marketing communications across a variety of stakeholder touch points. Champion the brand positioning and brand voice, to make sure our brand experience is all coming from the same place.
Agency Whisperer: Experience managing external PR agencies.
Fire up the troops: develop and manage comprehensive internal communications plan to drive key company initiatives top of mind and ensure we are arming all brand ambassadors with time relevant info.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Integrated Marketing Communications: drive consistent brand story across all touch points.
Social Media Skills: ability to navigate and communicate across brand and external social media channels (including: blogging, social networking, SEO, RSS, social media ethics).
Measurement & Analysis: Experience using various communications measurement approaches to measure impact and identify areas of opportunity or improvement.
Strong communication skills (verbal & written). Kinda needed for this role.
Proven ability to say more with less by delivering examples of clear and consistent messages across all touch points (corporate press releases, media relations, partner events).
Results highlighting social media savviness to drive earned media impressions and word of mouth influence.
Strong strategic thinking, creative thinking, team leadership, collaboration, and problem solving skills. Oh, and a great attitude is a must as well.

Track record of influencing multiple stakeholders (internal & external).

10+ years of communications experience (agency and/or in-house)
Bachelor?s degree Public Relations, Communications, Journalism (or related field of study). Advanced degree a bonus.
5+ years experience using social media platforms to drive company brand and communications.
