Director of Product Architecture Revionics
Objective
As Product Architect, you will lead the design effort on a variety of projects in a highly collaborative, fastpaced
environment. Your role is to design innovative solutions to real market problems. You will work
closely with product and marketing managers, user interaction designers, and software engineers to
develop new product offerings and improve existing ones. The successful candidate will be a highly
motivated professional with experience building scalable enterprise applications. The Product Architect is
expected to work with a diverse team including scientists, developers, DBAs, and product managers. We
are looking for a Product Architect who can design and document solutions that scale both up and out.
The Product Architect is responsible for standards and will advocate strong quality processes. Deep
technical knowledge in SQL, ASP .NET, and C# is a must.

Roles and Responsibilities:
As Director of Product Architecture, you will be responsible for producing Top-Level Design Documents
from Functional Requirements provided by Product Management. This individual must work with product
managers to understand requirements and then deliver designs that meet those requirements in a
scalable and extensible fashion. This individual will work collaboratively with Development managers to
provide work estimates for executing designs. The Architect will work with software engineers and
scientists to review those designs and marshal them thru a rigorous development process that includes
reviewing detailed designs. The architect will work with release management and QA to ensure that the
resulting product is delivered with the agreed upon schedule, scope, resources, and quality. This
individual will work with Product Management on rollout plans that include migration of customer data,
training, and documentation. Finally you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a set of
product standards and development processes. Product standards must ensure consistent usability and
high performance that result in a satisfying customer experience. Development processes must ensure
highly predictable and repeatable releases.
Key Responsibilities:
Understand Functional and Business Requirements
Top-Level and Detailed Designs including user interface, workflow, state diagrams, database
schemas, and interface specifications.
Work Estimates
Working prototypes
Training of internal and external users including product demonstrations
Product Assessments including usability, performance, and design patterns. Clearly identify
gaps in consistency and internal processes
Product Standards including usability, consistency, performance, and coding standards such as
code reuse and object oriented code development
Development Processes checkout/checkin, unit testing, build, integration testing, design reviews
and code reviews
Drive customer product concerns to resolution
Document and report problems and recommend solutions to executive team
Implementation and automation of best-practice test methodologies
Technology assessments
Requirements:
10+ years of software product development experience.
3+ years experience as an architect
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience with large database applications (multiple terabytes)
Ability to influence executive-level decision making.
Excellent analytical skills, a keen understanding of using science and statistical methods to
solve business problems.
Demonstrated success in product launches
Strong initiative in recognizing and acting on product improvement opportunities
Undergraduate and graduate degree in engineering
Retail industry experience preferred.
