Position Summary:
The Director of Product Management will be responsible for product management activities with alliances and key partners to ensure achievement of revenue objectives for a variety of products. The role will work with LANDesk alliances and partners to define and execute on strategic product offerings. The Director of Product Management is involved with the product throughout all stages of the life cycle (conception, definition, development, release, and post release activities) and drives product strategy, product planning and marketing execution with our partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Act as focal point to gather and provide market expertise and knowledge for alliance initiatives across product lines
Serve as core team member with partners/alliances, championing the integrated solutions we are building for different market segments
Collaborate with colleagues in both partner companies and throughout the organization including Sales, Engineering, Product Marketing, and Product Management teams to bring solutions to market
Lead alliance global launches to create awareness and adoption for alliance initiatives. Work with cross functional launch teams to develop baseline messaging and positioning collateral, web presence, training, and support for company plans and global rollout of alliance solutions, following the product development process
Create and provide ongoing updates on market research, industry analysis and positioning of solutions
Work with Product Marketing to develop content for alliance solutions, including, but not limited to: solution presentations, solution briefs, white papers, training materials, architectural diagrams, use case documents, data sheets, video overviews, scripts for promotional videos, and input for press releases and PR activities, etc.
Work closely with product management, product marketing, and engineering to provide updated external roadmap content for customers
Act as a LANDesk spokesperson for alliance solutions in customer briefings, analyst briefings, channel events, road shows, etc.
Support go-to-market and demand-gen activities including tradeshows, webinars, sales and partner meetings, and industry events
Works with partners to evaluate and prioritize requests for product changes, enhancements, etc.
Focuses efforts on specific products or product families across all market segments with alliances
Works closely with sales, marketing, business development and customer support: works to competitively differentiate the product or product family and resolve issues and problems that will affect product's success
Is involved with pricing, promotions, designing demos, directing training courses and other related issues
Provides work assistance to other team members
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills and Experience:
12+ years of experience as a Product Manager
4+ years of management experience
Experience as a product manager with a software company
Experience working with alliances and key partners on integrated product solutions
High level of knowledge of all products within a product family, company policies and practices
Thorough knowledge of long-range and operational planning techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to operate as a matrix manager in coordinating people and technical resources from multiple areas of the company
Able to operate without supervision
Strong organizational skills with ability to handle various tasks; attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication skills
Must be able to work well with others as part of a team
Education/Licensing/Certification:
Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing or engineering
Advanced degree in business management, marketing, or planning desirable
