Job Description :
As DSC?s Director of Product Management, you will lead and manage the strategy, planning and execution of DSC?s Product Management team. By actively studying DSC?s markets and segments, you are able to direct and evolve DSC?s solutions and offerings to move them forward.
This role requires a strong technical background as well as being comfortable managing both software and hardware products in addition to the Product Management team. The Director of Product Management requires sound judgment, attention to detail and the ability to drive a small multi-disciplinary team to the finish line.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Understand market problems and determine/prioritize product requirements
Perform competitive analysis, articulate distinctive competence, and define positioning
Maintain the product roadmap and define/monitor product milestones
Create and manage product requirements documents
Program management and launch planning
Communicate with management team and facilitate organizational buy-in for product initiatives
Perform win/loss analysis, conduct customer interviews and distill customer feedback into product requirements
Create presentations, collateral, and provide support to sales and marketing
Perform technology assessment and manage innovation
Create and update the business plan
Make buy/build/partner decisions and manage external partners
Facilitate product testing
Provide UI design and usability testing
Lead and participate in RFP responses
Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product.
Identify growth opportunities for the business through market analysis, segmentation and customer needs analysis
Lead cross functional teams in the coordination of the delivery to plan.
Lead and manage a small team of product managers working on the product line
Interface with potential partners and/or acquisition targets to help with due diligence and execution of strategic relationships
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA or equivalent work experience in related field.
10+ years of experience in product management roles ? must include hardware and software
Advanced understanding of Embedded System Application development and the software & tools required
Experience in developing and implementing business plans, new business concepts, and new product vectors
Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict management skills
Knowledge of product design principles and processes, as well as experience with agile software development (i.e. SCRUM) and traditional (i.e. waterfall) hardware development methodologies
Partner/vendor building and management
Ability to break down complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to champion opportunity with team members and leadership
Experience working in a fast paced, constantly expanding and changing environment
Ability to interact with diverse groups of technical and non-technical people. Must be able to communicate to senior executives internally and externally.
Ability to effectively build and manage teams, and develop skills and talent within teams
Strong written, verbal and documentation skills. Ability to lead through influence.
Desired Qualifications:
Background in 3D imaging, machine vision, camera technology, security technology, credentialing, ID management
Biometrics industry knowledge and experience
User Interface (UI) design experience
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Pragmatic Marketing Certification (PMC)
IEEE Certified Biometrics Professional (CBP)
