The Director, Product Management serves as a senior subject matter expert whose primary concern is establishing, maximizing and advocating the value proposition of SEVEN mobile products. In this highly visible role, the Director, Product Management will interface with software engineers, sales, marketing, business development, executive staff as well as SEVEN?s customers and eco-system or technology partners to drive products to market. Your success in maximizing product value while providing best leverage of engineering resources, cost and time to market will have a direct effect on SEVEN?s growth and bottom line. The Director, Product Management is expected to have one or two direct reports.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Based on a strong understanding of both mobile and IP technology, identify significant unmet market needs addressible by leveraging and innovating upon SEVEN?s core technologies, strengths and market leadership.
Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Operations and other organizations to prioritize resource allocation in order to maximize the efficiency of delivering product value to the market.
Analyze both the customer and competitive landscape to ensure product competitiveness in terms of value, differentiation and time to market.
Drive roadmap, PRDs, product definition and priorities through entire product cycle, including development and QA in collaboration with engineering, sales, customers and partners
Evangelize SEVEN products to customers and partners
Manage a small team of Product Managers.
Travel required 10-20% of the time
Skills & Experience Required:
Significant experience as a software product manager.
Siginficant knowledge and experience with mobile operator network infrastructure, design and optimization with respect to 3G/4G/LTE. Specific knowledge or expertize in the area of signalling is valued.
Significant technical expertize in IP protocols and associated technologies. Preferably some experience as either a software programmer or network engineer.
Strong understanding of the mobile ecosystem consisting of OEMs, Operators, Application Developers and Service Providers.
Demonstrable experience in creating business models, ROI analysis, SWOT analysis, etc.
Proven track record of success in previous employment.
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to lead via influence, patience, determination and placing a high value on the skill of listening.
Business driven and able to prioritize against complex and dynamic markets and customer requirements
Ability to think strategically and to develop comprehensive detailed specifications
Excellent oral, written, presentation, and organizational skills
Education Requirements:
Experience is valued first. A technical degree of any sort is preferred and advanced degrees are valuable
