Director of Product Management RGB Networks

As a key member of the RGB product management team, the Director of Product Management will be responsible for driving product positioning and go-to-market efforts, developing sales and marketing tools, and identifying and supporting key customer opportunities. Based in Austin, Texas, this position will focus on RGB?s software solutions, guiding product launch efforts and developing business cases assessing new growth opportunities for the company. Responsibilities include both outbound and inbound product management tasks, such as presenting to customers and at industry events, working with partners towards creating joint solution offerings, creation of product collateral, including solution briefs, white papers, application notes, and product and solution presentations. The Product Management Director will also be responsible for ongoing competitive and market analysis and will work closely with the VP of Marketing and CTO to develop solutions for key market applications.
Responsibilities include:
Meeting with large cable, telecom and satellite operators, as well as broadcasters and programmers, to present RGB?s IP video solutions for the delivery and monetization of multiscreen video services in live, VOD and nPVR architectures
Developing detailed product description documents that provide clear and thorough requirements for the key product features and capabilities for a telco environment
Managing product roadmaps and life-cycles from concept to end-of-life
Delivering technical sales presentations, marketing product requirements, product data sheets, product pricing policy and technical application notes
Delivering product training to internal sales staff as well as reseller/OEM partners
Helping to plan and supporting corporate trade shows and seminars
Obtaining knowledge of current market needs and anticipating future requirements through detailed market analysis and research, customer and partner meetings, and competitive analysis
Identifying and working closely with key potential partners, resellers and system integrators
Facilitating cross-functional team communications and coordination and working closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and technical support groups
Requirements include:
B.A./B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent required; M.S./M.B.A. desired
5-7 years of Product Marketing or Product Management experience
Solid and diverse experience across video service provider networks, business models, needs and applications
Knowledge of video compression technologies (MPEG-2, MPEG-4/H.264, H.265, etc.), digital video processing, advertisement insertion, encryption/DRM, switching, routing and IP protocols
Understanding of IP video multiscreen video technologies (HLS, MSS, HDS, etc.)
Excellent customer and vendor management and strategy development experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to deliver presentations to customers and large audiences at trade shows and seminars
Self-starter and team player; initiative, analytical, creative and strong business sense
