Director, Product Marketing

The Director of Product Marketing partner closely with product development, client operations and sales organizations to package, position and enable go-to-market efforts for the company?s cloud application, Renew OnDemand. The Product Marketing team is also responsible for driving other strategic initiatives related to our solutions.
Reporting to the VP of Product Marketing, the Director will be responsible for how our solutions are marketed to drive customer acquisition and expansion, supporting all customer-facing organizations within ServiceSource to achieve their customer acquisition, expansion and retention goals.
This individual will help chart and drive product & solution strategy and growth by:
Understanding market dynamics, competitive environment, and customer segments to understand applicability and opportunity of our product & solutions
Capturing, validating, and prioritizing customer needs based on Voice of the Customer research and insight
Help define and drive our product evolution by identifying unique customer and market needs in particular segments
Tailoring value proposition, positioning, and packaging for solutions targeted to different segments
Translating understanding and insight into market messages and marketing materials
Developing a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for our products
Working closely with customer facing organizations to assess customer needs and solution expectations while supporting sales, expansion and retention efforts
Creating sales tools, training material, whitepapers and collateral for the sales and client operations organizations
Define product marketing strategy, including market analysis and planning, tailored value propositions, targeted offerings, and key value drivers
Drive execution of the go-to-market strategies and plans for these solutions
Create strategic content and presentations to support customer acquisition and retention
Provide active support to sales, executive and customer operations teams through the development of customer-specific strategies, messages and slides
Manage the market facing launch process of major and minor product releases
Create collateral, tools & templates to support sales & customer initiatives
Deliver presentations and technology demos to sales team, customers, and prospects
Train customer facing organizations on major product and solution developments
Analyze market dynamics, competitive environment, customer segments and buyer profiles
Support overall positioning and strategic communications efforts such as branding, website and public relations with strategic content
Develop positioning and copy to support campaigns and marketing communications
Strong and willing individual contributor with high potential for leadership.
Minimum of 6-8 years experience in cloud, software or technology industry
Minimum of 4-5 years in Product or Solution Marketing
Experience in marketing for a fast growing technology-based company.
Passion for and experience with supporting sales teams and presenting to customers is required
Proven track record working in a fast-paced, ?start-up?-like, high growth organization
Proven experience driving and supporting lead programs, customer and prospect events
Excellent writing and slide development skills to translate strategy and messaging to pragmatic, usable content.
Poise, maturity and interpersonal skills to deal professionally at executive level with clients and within company
Self-starter who sets priorities and drives deliverables to execution with full accountability.
Resourceful, creative and likes to develop new, high impact ideas
BA/BS degree required, MBA degree preferred
20% travel, primarily North America, and occasional international travel.
