Job Title: Director of Product Marketing
Reports to: SVP, Marketing & Product Management
Purpose of the Job
As a Direct of Product Marketing, you will be responsible for the outbound marketing activities of the company?s products, in addition to being part of the overall product strategy team. You will craft the messaging and positioning for products. You'll conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive awareness and demand. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate complex technical capabilities into benefits is crucial.
In your role, you will be the expert in buyers (service providers, content providers and other value chain participants), how they buy and their buying criteria, and will transfer that knowledge to the sales channel. You will also be an expert in understanding the overall market environment, including trends that drive both provider and end user behaviors, and in competitive offerings and associated messaging. Your measure of success is the profitable penetration of our products into the market.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The role interfaces with sales, customers, product management, engineering, the executive team and external partners and vendors. You will primarily be hands-on, and supported with contract and outsourced staff with major responsibilities as follows:
? Product positioning - develop product positioning, messaging and collateral that differentiates our products in the market
? Sales enablement ? communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and channel partners and develop the sales presentations and tools that support the selling process of our products
? Product launch ? plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan
? Market intelligence ? be the expert on buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on market trends, both provider and end user; be the expert on your competition and how to beat them. Distill and educate the Vantrix team.
? Demand generation ? develop the marketing strategy and manage the programs that drive awareness and demand for your products
? Product strategy ? be a key member of overall team developing product strategy for existing and new products and markets

? Corporate marketing ? contribute to the overall marketing process of collateral creation, website, PR and events
? Product management ? contribute to the product planning, requirements, product roadmap and pricing for the product
Essential Job Functions and Tasks
? Develop and implement product and release go-to-market plans, working with all necessary departments and vendors to execute
? Create high-impact internal and customer-facing materials that clearly communicate the value and unique advantage of our products
? Develop vertical-specific content and materials to better reach target industries and partner-specific materials to support our key channel partners
? Develop website content to drive sales through clear, high-impact company and product information. Manage web-generated leads.
? Develop and manage product collateral including datasheets, product overviews, whitepapers, and case studies
? Develop and manage sales tools including sales presentations, ROI calculators and positioning documents
? Establish and maintain a marketing relationship with key customers who are willing to be references for case studies and speaking events
? Establish and maintain a PR relationship with key analysts and publications who will help us evangelize our solution and messages
? Establish and maintain a competitive assessment library of key competitor capabilities and product feature comparisons, with focus on distilling to relevant product strategy and sales tactics.
? Create and deliver sales training on product positioning ? ensure all sales members can internalize and clearly communicate our product positioning and message
? Working with sales, create a process for and maintain market/competitive intelligence, while keeping the organization apprised of major trends or events relevant to the company strategy and products.
? Act as a leader and facilitator within the company
Required Skills and Competencies:
? You are a great writer with demonstrated skills in creating high-impact marketing and sales materials for a successful enterprise or mobile software company
? You?re analytical, strategic and persuasive
? You?re a PowerPoint master and strong on Excel. Ability to deliver completed presentations and collateral.
? You possess excellent verbal and presentation skills
? You're a hands-on individual contributor, action oriented, a self-starter and driven to make an impact.
? You can adapt to changing conditions and ambiguity in a fast-paced, dynamic market
? You have excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
? You understand enterprise or mobile network infrastructure and concepts
? You understand digital media, particularly streaming video, and the technology used in broadcast or content markets.
? BA or BS degree and/or equivalent experience required.
? MBA (desirable)
? 10+ years in product marketing, or in conjunction with marketing, product management, or sales
? 5+ years of enterprise or mobile software/services product marketing experience
? International experience highly useful
? Startup experience highly useful
? Ability to travel internationally up to 25%
? Written and oral competency in French highly useful
