Description:
Director of Production Control develops and implements the companys materials, planning, and production control functions as stated below.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the companys production control function including the following:
o Master Scheduling
o Production Planning
o Material Management
o Capacity Planning
o Manufacturing Metric reporting
o ERP Planning Systems
o Management of Customer Service
o Interfacing with Finance, Sales, and Sales Ops
- Master Scheduling deals with judgment of Sales forecasts, analysis of current inventory and WIP, and determining material needs going forward.
- Production Planning deals with breakdown of master schedule into component parts such as fab wafers needed, assembly builds needed, sorting requirements, and test inserts needed. Output is a build plan.
- Materials Management deals with tactical day to day involvement of the movement of material through the supply chain, including fab wafer movement, assembly builds, and test outs.
- Capacity Planning deals with making sure that our material needs are met or can be met by our supply chain partners, including fab capacity and cycle time, quantity of sort probe cards to sort wafers out, assembly substrate available for assembly builds, quantity of load boards for test outs, enough handler kits for test outs, handler capacity, and system level test boards to support our requirements.
- Management functions include benchmarking and reporting industry standard metrics to judge our productivity, supervising production control, materials management, and customer service personnel, interfacing with finance, and interfacing with our vendors and conducting vendor QBRs.
- Identifying, buying, and implementing a company-wide ERP system that includes CRM, Order Entry, Financial activities, inventory, standard costing, and demand forecasting.
- Any other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Skills Required:
Ability to direct and control the activities of many areas dealing with production control and material management.
- Working knowledge ERP systems and implementation.
- Knowledge, ability, and experience in dealing and handling various 3rd party offshore vendors.
- Knowledge and experience with industry standard metrics.
- Knowledge of planning, materials, supply chain, warehousing, and shipping.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a small start up environment.
- Ability to interact with senior management of offshore vendors and conduct Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Ability to negotiate with vendors.
- Knowledge of Excel and other computer based tools.
- Knowledge and experience in the fabless semiconductor business model.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to interface with Sales, Finance, and Sales Ops to solve customer and vendor issues.
- Ability to work and act independently.
- Ability and willingness to create clear documentation for procedures.
Desirable Skills:
- Bachelors or Masters and at least 10 years experience.
- At least 10 years experience running Production Control organizations.
- Previous management experience.
