Zosano is currently searching for a Director of Project Management to join our growing team of entrepreneurs. This individual will be responsible for managing the product portfolio and development activities to meet corporate goals, and will be a contract-to-hire status. The role will include working with a team to select commercially attractive product candidates and product management strategy and implementation for product development, including process development, clinical, manufacturing, regulatory and coordinated clinical studies. This individual will maintain key interaction with Operations, Clinical, Product Development, Regulatory, Finance, and Business Development to ensure a cohesive portfolio program and appropriate processes to consistently manage and track all strategic programs.

Individual must be able to lead the entire product development process both inside and outside of the department to assist in prioritizing all related activities to ensure that project objectives are successfully met in a timely manner.
Sets development goals under the guidance of the CSO with dotted line reporting to the COO
Allocates and manages the resources to achieve the goal
Provides strong and timely technical leadership
Monitors the departmental budget, and defines project milestones and deliverables. Understand the critical path activities required
Identifies risks that impact budget, timeline, and resources
Drives flow of information to team members and stakeholders
Collaborates with key stakeholders to drive product development: preclinical, process development, analytical, engineering, clinical studies, manufacturing, regulatory
Supports partnering activities: due diligence, project work plans, facilitate technical and business meetings with agenda and generate minutes
Manages projects by understanding the ?critical path? activities and their interrelationships.
Provides regular project updates to the management team
Facilitates Design Control activities and reviews
Develops improvements to in-house platform technology to support commercial development of new products
Assists in solving technical problems with technical staff and consulting groups
Assists Regulatory in filing INDs.
Provides project management leadership for the product portfolio
BS or MS degree, preferably in a scientific or engineering discipline with at least 10 years product development and/or project management experience
Ideal candidate will possess a scientific or engineering background having acquired knowledge of the core product fundamentals
Demonstrated success in moving drugs through the development process is essential
Established ability to deliver under small company demands and pressure
Solid familiarity with regulatory affairs is required. Regulatory experience a plus
Excellent, clear, consistent communication skills are critical to this role
Persistence, drive, and sense of urgency will be key assets in this role
Must show leadership qualities throughout all levels of the organization such as ability to motivate, persuade, bring together, influence, and demonstrate initiative in all actions
Must be capable of making decisions affecting a multitude of departments/disciplines to ensure that the Zosano?s business objectives are met with respect to new product development and timelines
