The Director of Project Management is responsible for managing the project management team and directing the day-to-day client project operations including scheduling, managing and prioritizing workloads. Looking for applicants with 7+ years of experience leading project management teams in a software development environment, preferably consumer- or client-facing. Ideal candidate is someone who partners with clients, drives business growth, respects the organization, leads collaboratively, and is a recognized expert and thought leader.
Responsibilities
Day-to-day primary owner of client project pipeline, working with the Design, Engineering, QA, and Account Management teams
Manage all projects through the project development lifecylce
Establish formalized project management policies, procedures, tools, and methodologies appropriate for the organization
Develop strong, productive client relationships
Provide necessary feedback to internal and client stakeholders, such as changes to launch calendar, issue escalation, and scope changes/clarifications
Monitor project cost accounting and manage financial targets
Provide training, coaching, and development of project management team; monitor performance and provide constructive feedback
Remain current and well-educated on project management industry best practices
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent
7+ years of experience leading project management teams in a software development environment, preferably consumer- or client-facing
Proven record of developing and leading highly-effective teams
Successful track record in working with business and technology teams to define, develop, test, and launch new products
Experience managing operational aspects of a business or team
Natural orientation to client service and effectively managing relationships
Adaptability: must be able to create and manage in a structured environment while remaining aware of and responsive to changing client and business needs
Change Management: Able to effectively manage and communicate client change requests
Diplomacy when responding to difficult or unusual operational or client issues
Demonstrated ability to understand client challenges and create actionable solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills that clearly articulate requirements to a wide audience
High-level problem solving; able to put together disparate parts of a problem, track to its origin, recommend alternatives, make decision, and implement
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to the accuracy and completeness of information
Excellent command of project management tools: Basecamp, MS Project, Jira
Enthusiasm or experience with mobile technologies is a plus
