Director of Public Relations and Communications
We are looking for a Director of Public Relations and Communications to lead a team of PR experts who are promoting our company and our products. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing abilities, oral communication skills, strong existing media relationships, and the ability to develop additional relationships with key members of the media and to execute on a variety of marketing communications initiatives at one time. This position requires internal collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify newsworthy opportunities across six products.
Lead and execute on regular public relations outreach
Develop, execute and lead all of Cvent's internal and external communications activities
Identify and lead outreach efforts for Cvent's key media contacts, customer references and industry influencers
Convert software features and functionality into value propositions in press releases and marketing communications materials
Create a variety of PR materials including press releases, media relations content, case studies, white papers, executive bios, investor relations materials, interview briefing materials, corporate newsletter content, social media content, speaking proposals, etc.
Research and analyze reporter coverage areas, industry trends and Cvent data to develop innovative story ideas and conduct media outreach
Oversee all internal communications strategies, ensuring timely and relevant employee/company-wide updates through regular email communication, global newsletters, etc.
Ensure all internal/external messaging is consistent with all social media promotion and activity
Oversee management of external PR and Investor Relations agencies
Bachelor's degree required; major in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism is strongly preferred
8+ years practical experience in public relations; agency and technology experience highly preferred
Experience leading PR efforts for public companies required
Proven track record in managing public relations on cross-functional teams developing strategies and tactics for integrated marketing plans
Demonstrated experience with building, growing and leading a team
Ability to write clear, impactful press releases and persuasive marketing copy
Attention to detail, deadline-focused and ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks
High degree of computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Vocus
A keen enthusiasm for and demonstrable understanding of Web trends and technologies
Ability to interact effectively with various levels of management and other departments
