As a Director of Quality, you will be responsible for ensuring Belkin?s products delight our customers from a quality perspective. He/she will also be accountable to create a company-wide vision for quality and execution of our quality processes and systems, throughout the product life cycle from inception to end of life. The Director of Quality will apply learning?s of consumer behavior and expectations by incorporating them into appropriate quality strategies, systems, and requirements .This position will provide Quality leadership and direct collaboration with the Product Management, Engineering, Sales and Supply Chain teams to establish and maintain Belkin?s program for standards of quality for products and services, worldwide. The role also involves direct engagement with customers, partners and suppliers to communicate and answer questions regarding Belkin?s quality standards, systems and processes.
How you?ll do it
Develop and implement a comprehensive global quality management system, ensuring top management involvement in setting goals and driving continuous improvement in performance throughout the company.
Develop vision for Quality Assurance to be rolled out companywide that will engage in proactively addressing how we can ensure all products meet quality standards.
Develop a deep understanding of the needs of other departments, and continuously refine our processes to improve our quality.
Ensure Quality standards and practices are built within the planning, development and in-field phase of the product development process.
Lead a global team of quality professionals, that include hardware and software expertise.
Maintain Company quality policies and procedures, including a quality manual that promulgates consistent practices to achieve quality goals; ensure change in business methods and products are reflected in procedures.
What you?ll need
Degree in Engineering, Quality Engineering, Distribution or related subject, with advanced degree preferred. Additional formal training in Quality Management a plus.
Minimum 8 years experience in managerial positions, preferably in Quality Assurance, in an international environment in consumer products (preferred), software engineering, or manufacturing and distribution.
Experience in Quality Management in the use of quality tools with a sound statistical base: Quality Management systems, and process mapping.
Management experience with a global quality team, providing regular guidance and direction.
Demonstrated success in handling multiple cross-functional projects in a complex environment.
Skilled at building trust quickly and negotiating in tough situations
Excellent communication, leadership and human relations skills - able to work well with all elements within and outside of the organization.
What you?ve done
Engage customers, partners and suppliers as the Belkin spokesperson and subject matter expert regarding quality processes, systems and standards.
Utilize the feedback loops from customer service, benchmark market data, net promoter scores to refine quality practices.
Make well rounded business recommendations on how to address quality issues by conducting cost-benefit analysis weighing all relevant factors, including cost of quality, time to market, brand impact, sales forecasts, and financial metrics. Lead cross functional teams in the development of mitigation plans when quality issues arise. Mitigation plans would include a cost-benefit analysis to understand the impact quality concern to brand and sales.
Manage the process of Company registration with ISO for 9001, 14000 and any other external certifications that are required. Ensure compliance with standards and procedures throughout periodic audits.
Partner with supply chain and other functions to develop and implement a Supplier Quality Program, to ensure implementation of quality standards and specifications. Provide standards and specifications for supplier qualification, supplier surveys, first article review, a supplier rating system, an audit system, and a means for resolving supplier quality problems.
