Director of Research & Development Agility Fuel Systems
The Director of Research and Development would be reporting directly to the Vice President of Engineering. In this position the Director of Research and Development will supervise, lead and direct the work of 5-10 engineers and technicians at several manufacturing facilities. The Director of Research and Development would also direct and implement the organization's research and development policies, objectives, and initiatives. They would ensures research and development activities will maintain an organization's competitive position and profitability.
Lead the Advanced Product Development, Testing and Validation for all of the company?s alternative fuel products.
Create, define and enhance a strategic multi-year roadmap for the company?s upcoming initiatives.
Manage a budget of $2-5 Million in tech spending
Execute program plans with regards to quality, cost and schedule targets.
Co-manage the company?s Intellectual Property roadmap
Design and development of new product concepts. The role includes hand-on development and engineering, in addition to the leadership of the R&D team.
Communication with customers for requirements analysis, testing, and other feedback.
Compliance with Design Controls requirements, including requirements definition, phase reviews, and risk analysis.
Collaboration with the Director of Program management to allow successful transitions of products from concept to finished design.
Mentoring, training, and development of subordinate staff.
Education and experience:
Minimum BA Degree in engineering
10+ years prior experience
Well-versed with heavy truck, bus and automotive industry standards
Compressed and Liquid Natural Gas fuel systems expertise
Self-directed and have the desire and ability to take on a wide range of responsibilities
Good communication skills and ability to work with engineering, customers, and production personnel
Willing to travel must have valid passport
