In a proactive response to market growth and client needs, uSamp is in search of a Director of Research who will lead and manage the ongoing research needs within our CPG client portfolio. The Director of Research is principally responsible for developing research analysis plans, interpreting survey data, creating reports and making robust recommendations based upon insights from the data to drive the business. The Director of Research owns consumer understanding and insights on the businesses and products he/she supports and is expected to be the day-to-day research resource to both internal and external clients. The Director of Research is responsible for presenting the findings and recommendations to the client, and serve as mentors to more junior Research Analysts.
Specific Duties:
Administer research tools and approaches
Communicate with internal clients to understand and document the business objectives
Lead the development of analysis plans that support the business objectives for each brand
Distill insight from in-depth data analyses using traditional and advanced methods, including secondary data digs
Author reports and presentations containing actionable recommendations
Deliver presentations of research findings to clients ? answering questions and instilling confidence
Conduct ad-hoc research and competitive market analysis as needed
Design or assist in the development of qualitative and quantitative questionnaires and moderator guides.
Ensure work is disciplined and adheres to quality assurance controls
Support continued development of new research products and processes
Lead measurement thinking, including return on investment
Deliver world-class work on time, on budget, and with quality to clients
Qualifications:
A minimum of 7-10 years within the Market Research Industry, (preference to CPG, consultancy, or related industry experience)
Bachelors or advanced degree in mathematics or the sciences
Strong experience with web based analytical tools (Google Analytics, SiteCatalyst, WebTrends, AdRelevance, etc.)
Strong knowledge of market research techniques and tools, both quantitative and qualitative
Expertise with Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office
Expertise in database mining software such as SPSS preferred, but not required
A strategic, creative and analytical mind
Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication skills
A results-oriented outlook with the ability to prioritize and deliver on key initiatives
Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work effectively with and through others ? a team player
Flexible and adaptive to changing client needs
