Director of Retail (US)

Description: We are looking for a unique sales leader. The Director of Retail, is responsible for for field level management of the Sales Directors and their deals. This person will be engaged in employee coaching and training, team leadership, prospect meetings, calls, and negotiations, territory reviews, forecasting for their region, strategic account planning and analysis, territory assessment, and market sizing for the Division they are managing. The successful candidate will work closely with the Division Vice President of Retail and other key team members to continuously evolve the sales strategy to achieve quarterly and annual sales objectives. The Director of Retail, will assist with the successful hiring, training, and management of the Retail Sales Director team.

Essential Functions:

- Assist Retail Sales Director team in contract negotiation and contract management to ensure product relevance, long-term client relationships, maximum profit margin, and potential for future business growth.
- Provide leadership and management to the Sales Director team that encompasses the mission and core values of the company.
- Measure and monitor sales activities within their region on weekly basis
- Interact regularly with sales leadership team to help ensure Retails sales priorities are aligned with total company direction.
- Ensure that each Retail Sales Director has the proper training, knowledge, and skills to achieve sales objectives tied to long-term organizational goals.
- Perform quarter employee evaluations and engage in regular coaching and feedback with Sales Directors.
- Proactively commends and/or corrects behaviors or employee items which impact the business.
- Helps recruit, selects and develops a high impact sales team

Job Requirements

- Education and Experience
o Bachelors degree, preferably in MIS, Computer Science, or Engineering
o MBA is preferred
- Required Experience
o 10 years work experience in sales and sales management
o Expertise in selling and managing salespeople of early-stage products
- Desired Experience
o Selling to or managing a team that has sold to retailers and other viable verticals
o Selling or managing a team that has sold eCommerce-focused solutions
- Desired Skills
o Business data analysis (e.g., applied analysis of customer data, financial data, macro industry data, etc.)
o Expert user of current web/online communication technologies, including browsers, search, email, instant messaging, and forums/message boards
o Advanced user of new and emerging web/online communication technologies, such as RSS, blogs, social networks, etc.
o Knowledge of online marketing techniques, technologies, and media
o Passion for technology, particularly online communication/collaboration technologies.
