Job Description
We are seeking a hard-working, self motivated person with the ability to train, manage, coach and sell with a team of sales reps in diverse, high tech organizations. The Director of Sales is an experienced professional who leads the portfolio company sales strategy that drives awareness and adoption of our portfolio company products via channel sales, product development, branding, promotion and communications. The ideal candidate will possess leadership qualities as well as time management skills. Good organizational, analytical and problem solving skills are essential.
Reporting to the Managing Partner, the Director of Sales Management is a member of the Senior Executive team and works closely with senior management to refine the organizational brand strategy; identify new product and promotional efforts; prioritize them against customer and business objectives; and work cross-functionally to ensure integration and maximization of our marketing and distribution strategy throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
With the CEO Ventures Management and business unit leaders, develop comprehensive and fully integrated annual sales plans, including targets and metrics.
For each portfolio company, develop new value driven strategies for approaching and cultivating potential clients.
Train current and future sales reps to promote in depth knowledge of services and encourage the use of the most effective sales techniques needed to increase sales.
Develop sales strategies and serve as primary strategy advisor to the business units. Ensure alignment of plans with corporate strategies and be held accountable for achieving key sales goals.
Foster communication between individuals, business units and offices to ensure information distribution and resource utilization are capitalizing on the strengths of the firm.
Work with appropriate team members to create and execute a winning strategy for all key chases.
Supervise the sales staff across multiple business units.
Qualifications
7+ years of business to business sales experience
Technology and software sales experience preferred.
Training experience in both formal and informal settings a plus.
Quantifiable track record of delivering business results.
Strong results-orientation, initiative, and extensive knowledge of our target audience.
Must be analytical, strategic, and metrics-oriented
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, relationship-building and presentation skills.
