The Director of Sales within the Product Adoption Division will report directly to Cvent's EVP of Sales and Marketing. This Director position requires a dynamic and experienced leader with a strong track record of success in growing inside sales or account management teams and managing them to consistent overachievement. Strong marketing experience is a must. The Director will manage a global team of high performance Associates and multiple processes in the U.S. and India including : 24/7 client service, U.S. based sales and service teams, International sales and service teams, internal back-end service team, customer care inbound support team, and marketing support teams. Entrepreneurial mindset is a must, as the Director will serve as the “CEO of his or her own divisionâ€. Event or hospitality SAAS background is a plus, but not required.
Position Duties
Directly manage a team of experienced Sales professionals to achieve and surpass individual and department goals
Facilitate on-boarding and training for new associates
Coach, mentor, provide feedback and improve the skill set and productivity of the team
Identify, innovate and execute business ideas to improve division goals and targets
Initiate, manage, take ownership of strategic dialogues with other teams, including Marketing, Technology, client services, event management division head, and the hotel sales division
Drive Cvent's Marketing team to identify new markets and formulate strategies to penetrate them and manage research initiatives with the marketing internet research team
Develop and implement strategic goals and tactical planning for sales organization
Manage compensation and commission plans for all members of the team
Innovate and increase cross-selling within the product adoption team to increase revenue of Cvent's Event management and survey solutions sales
Manage employees performance reviews and career planning
Ensure relationships with key decision-makers for accounts that will provide new business are continuously developed and relationships are strengthened and grown
Perform other duties as assigned
Identify product enhancement requests
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelors degree required
Minimum 7 â€" 10 years of relevant professional experience in high performance sales environments; hotel/hospitality or software industry experience highly preferred
Minimum 5 â€" 7 years of proven experience managing, motivating and developing successful sales teams with multiple processes. Must have experience managing departments with annual quotas with a minimum of 15 reps
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to integrate knowledge across disciplines to include cold calling, consultative selling, product demonstrations, closing contracts, operation/process flow, and product function
Proven ability to identify, target and secure key business relationships
Ability to identify and define key sales metrics, measure sales process, and create goals that drive growth
Ability to assess and define optimal sales organizational structure and selling approach
Ability to evaluate and implement a sales compensation structure that drives growth
Ability to contribute to the senior management team by participating in planning, resources allocation, and driving growth
Direct, previous track record of performing high call volume and corresponding talk time, excelling at developing relationships over the phone, consistently achieving or beating quota for individual sales performance
Very proficient with software packages of Microsoft Office
Comfortable using online software sales automation products such as Salesforce.com and web collaboration tools like WebEx and Eloqua.
Must be articulate, organized, detail-oriented, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-changing entrepreneurial environment
Sales and Marketing experience is a requirement
Ability to travel to Cvent's India office 1, possibly 2, times per year for 3-4 weeks at a time
