The Director of Sales ? State Programs is responsible for individual sales efforts within state governments.
The Director of Sales will be expected meet or exceed a quota for new sales and services contracts. This position requires solid experience and understanding of large complex software sales, sales operations, complex contracts negotiations, and people management at the senior manager level or higher. Frequent travel between the Connecture offices as well as current and potential clients will be expected. The ideal candidate will be based out of Waukesha, WI, Atlanta, GA, or located proximate to these locations or a major airport.

Roles and Responsibilities
The essential responsibilities of the Sales Director ? State Programs are described below.
?Attainment of corporate sales and revenue goals.
?Successfully manage their sales pipeline.
?Work with Connecture?s State Government and Sales leadership to optimize lead generation efforts and identifying target customers.
?Coordinate sales engineering resources on specific opportunities.
?Assist with market, competitor, and industry trends research to
support corporate and sales goal attainment.
?Identify, maintain, and develop senior client executive
?Assist with identification of additional business needs and sales
opportunities among current client base.
?Develop value propositions and ROI for new sales.
?5 or more years of experience selling complex software implementation projects one million plus required.
?State Government sales and/or business development experience required
?Understanding of the state procurement and contracting process
?Proven ability to develop and initiate business development strategies, and establish relevant relationships with key state stakeholders in various state agencies affected by the Affordable Care Act (i.e., Medicaid, Insurance, Health/Welfare)
?Experience selling enterprise technology solutions (i.e., MMIS) to state agencies over a long sales cycle
?Proven ability to work collaboratively with partner organizations
?Ability to generate leads through existing network, cold calling, and creative go-to-market strategies

?Ability to assist with prospecting and developing large account strategies

?Excellent presentation skills, including face-to-face and via WebEx, Go-TO-Meeting or other similar tools

Preferred Skills and Experience
?Experience demonstrating and selling sophisticated and complex products/technologies, IT Solutions sales
?Experience selling software to Health Care or Insurance organizations
?Track record of success in building relationships and presenting to C-Level and state agency department heads
?Experience working with organizations who sell to state governments (i.e., Deloitte, CGI, CNSI, HP, Xerox, CSC, Accenture)
?Working knowledge of Connecture products and services
