The Director of Search Engine Marketing is responsible for developing strategy, managing a team and driving results for Adchemy Actions SEM channel. As a senior member of Adchemys Actions business, this role is a key position in the Marketing and Distribution organization responsible for accelerating Actions exceptional growth via multi-million dollar marketing programs across a quickly growing list of lead generation verticals.
This role will lead an extremely smart, talented, and results-driven team of SEMs, will coordinate closely with a world-class set of Product Managers, Engineers, and Researchers and will leverage and develop powerful, proprietary SEM technologies. This individual will have an opportunity to make a substantial impact leveraging a rare set of talent and tools to turn strategic vision into reality within a fast-moving, innovative company.
Specific responsibilities include:
Drive SEM program, project and vertical expansion and optimization (keyword expansion; ad copy, ad grouping, landing page optimization; testing; analysis)
Implement testing strategies to continually uncover optimization levers, enhance learning, and improve performance
Proactively leverage PM, Engineering, Research and BI teams to evolve technology features and capabilities, development new ideas/concepts, improve data access and leverage capabilities, and optimize campaign performance
Develop and manage forecasts, implement strategies to achieve/exceed targets
Work collaboratively with cross functional teams (Product, Marketing, Engineering, Research, Ops and Sales) to determine global priorities and drive operational results
Create measurable business and development objectives for direct reports and ensure objectives are met on a quarterly basis
Desired Skills & Experience:
Minimum 8 years in a hands-on direct marketing role - online (SEM, email, affiliates, display, etc.) or offline (direct mail, catalog, etc.) and 4+ years of hands-on SEM experience
Prior experience managing and growing a team
Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
Exceptional Excel skills, proficiency with Powerpoint and Word
Solid grasp of online marketing & optimization best practices
Excellent communication skills & effectiveness working with multi-disciplinary teams
Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize, multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Willing to get your hands dirty and get it done
Ideal Candidates will also posses:
BS degree in a marketing or quantitative discipline
Dogged desire to use technology and solve difficult problems
Experience with Google AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing, MSN Adcenter
Experience with Education and/or Mortgage lead generation
