Based in Houston, TX, Alert Logic is seeking a Director of Security Researchto lead our team of research engineers that are focused on analyzing new threats, proactively finding vulnerabilities and writing detection logic for these attacks. The Director of Security Research must be familiar with reverse engineering, exploit development, memory corruption vulnerabilities and various web technologies.

Responsibilities:
Define the vision for the security research department that encompasses the team mission and structure
Manage a team of dynamic team of talented security researchers and threat intelligence analysts
Utilize your strong knowledge of security concepts and practices that will enable the creation of the appropriate processes to proactively identify threats, vulnerabilities and exploits
Build relationships with key stakeholders in our partner ecosystem to increase the value of the Alert Logic partnership
Work with the Alert Logic product managers to ensure that our products remain on the cutting edge of detection
Make recommendations for appropriate development, engineering and corporate processes and procedures
Work with the Alert Logic marketing team to develop programs that enhance the image of the Alert Logic security research team
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience managing a team of talented security researchers in a similar work environment (service provider or security product company experience preferred)
Computer Security Certifications such as GIAC certified intrusion analyst or CISSP preferred Other certifications such as OSCE, NOP, GREM, GWAPT, GPEN or similar is a big plus
Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, UNIX, Linux and Windows Systems Administration
Familiarity with web protocols and web technologies (HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, XML, JSON, REST, SOAP, etc)
High level familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, shell, bash, etc
Motivated and disciplined self starter with experience working for a high growth company
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, partners and C level executives
