Zoosk is looking for a talented individual to lead site operations. This is a highly visible role for the company, as our production infrastructure is expanding rapidly in order to keep up with the explosive growth of the business. You will manage an experienced and growing team of system administrators in the day-to-day operations of maintaining a high traffic site. You will also plan the future technology roadmap to expand our production footprint, identifying the right balance of self-hosted and cloud-based solutions. You will be supported with the funding and resources necessary to be successful.
Responsibilities:
Maintain high availability of the Zoosk.com site and critical services.
Plan and monitor major production-level changes.
Define and track appropriate metrics that measure the health of the production environment.
Conduct capacity planning and establish a technical roadmap to scale the infrastructure.
Lead a team of very smart system administrators.
Maintain technical proficiency. Be able to assist with production work when needed, or personally resolve issues in a crisis.
Qualifications:
5+ years working in a high-availability, web-based environment.
Several years experience leading a team. Prefer a line-level manager, versus someone who manages other managers.
Hands-on proficiency with relevant technologies. We utilize a core LAMP stack, with a variety of other common open source solutions.
BS in Computer Science or related field.
