Director of Software Engineering Mitra Capital LLC
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Overview:
Mitra Capital LLC (Mitra) is a Boston-based equity hedge fund that runs a concentrated long-short equity portfolio. The firm's team of behavioral analysts applies a proprietary behavior assessment methodology, rooted in the Central Intelligence Agency, to analyze management's public statements in earnings calls and conferences in order to gain an edge predicting near-term company performance.
Mitra Capital is seeking an experienced, hands-on senior software developer/manger to manage a small engineering team and lead the design and development of an infrastructure that will serve as the primary software interface for the investment team's use in the research and investment process, which focuses on analysis of earnings transcripts as the primary input for portfolio selection. This interface will need to present a wide range of relevant information to analysts to enable them to quickly navigate, annotate, score, and comment on disclosures. The system will also function as the workflow management system for the team. The interface will need to maximize the capture of a learning dataset from analyst work, in order to allow further refinement and development of algorithms that serve as screening mechanisms or otherwise facilitate the research and investment process.
The Director of Software Engineering will be responsible for managing two other members of the technology team: a machine learning engineer who will work to improve existing and create new algorithms used to select the disclosures that are presented to analysts for their attention, and a software developer who will be responsible for maintaining and improving existing systems and platforms that support an affiliated investment research firm that serves external institutional investors. The Director of Software Engineering will act as the project manager, senior software developer and strategic liaison to internal clients.
If you are looking for an opportunity to work directly with your client base in an entrepreneurial and collegial environment, and with a group of intellectually-motivated individuals, this is the role for you.
