As Director of Strategic Accounts - Travel, you'll be responsible for managing relationships with LivingSocial?s most important travel partners. You will work hard to solidify and expand the number and depth of our travel industry partnerships, supporting them on transactional, promotional and media engagements. The Director of Strategic Accounts needs to be energetic and ambitious to make a true impact on our fast and growing organization.
? Lead efforts to identify, close and manage strategic key strategic relationships with travel industry suppliers, organizations and companies that support the Escapes business
? Lead contract negotiations with hotel, airline, DMO, car rental and travel retailer partners.
? Work consultatively with strategic accounts to generate revenue through multiple commercial models including deal participations, retail contracts, travel packages and paid media.
? Lead key business development efforts for the Escapes business
? Analyze and track competitive intelligence for key industry organizations and produce regular and ad-hoc overviews of competitors and potential partners.
? Work with the leadership team to develop growth plans for areas of strategic expansion and new product entry
? Manage key sales projects that benefit the Escapes business
Required Skills and Experience
? 7 plus years working in a leadership capacity in business development or sales within the online travel industry.
? Experience creating unique business relationships and creative solutions in a digital environment.
? Must have experience managing and negotiating supply or media agreements.
? Ability to work independently in an ambiguous environment, creating process and solutions for the business.
? Experience maintaining close attention to detail in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
? Top-notch communication and presentation skills
? Solid understanding of the e-commerce, distribution, media and advertising landscape within the travel industry
? Strong relationships with top travel industry suppliers (hotels, airline, cruise etc) preferred.
? Bachelor?s Degree, MBA preferred
