Responsys is seeking a Director of Strategic Services to provide direct leadership to a highly skilled team of client facing consultants.
In this position, the Director of Strategic Services will manage a team of consultants and guide Responsys clients in developing innovative cross-channel digital strategies. Primary areas of responsibility include:
Manage and grow a team of 6 - 10 strategic consultants on the existing client projects and personal growth
Hire top talent based on forecasting and pipeline needs and evolve the talent skill set based on market and offerings
Assist the VP of Strategic Services and account team to manage the strategic services profitability, long term client retention and expansion of client relationships
Proactively determine and take to market new strategic service offerings
Handle all resource assignments, forecasting and revenue recognition for your team
Strategic Consulting Responsibilities:
Provide senior-level strategic guidance for top-tier clients. Duties include:
Perform in-depth discovery of client's business, competitors and industry to provide best practices and competitive analysis.
Perform detailed analyses across programs, campaigns, and segments and making actionable recommendations for improvement
Develop strategic recommendations for improved performance of client's email marketing initiatives
Travel to client locations to execute Responsys marketing services offerings including strategic planning workshops, optimization audits and Deliverability audits (job requires about 30% travel)
Provide clients with tactical recommendations on a variety of topics including creative, deliverability, data hygiene, privacy, segmentation, testing strategies, etc.
Author articles and alerts to present at trade shows. Develop content for the Responsys internal "Best Practices" library.
Support Sales and Account Management in reaching aggressive sales targets (i.e. proposal writing, project scoping, presentation of custom solutions, etc.)
The qualified candidate will have a over 10 years of experience in direct marketing, online marketing, and/or database marketing, with at least 3 years of experience with the email channel. Previous agency or consulting experience required. Also required:
Current knowledge around email marketing opportunities and challenges including deliverability, creative, segmentation and modeling, privacy and data security, etc.
Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills (including data mining, and modeling)
Passion for the online marketing space with a solid understanding of direct marketing principles and research techniques
Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with project management and interpersonal communication abilities (ability to produce professional reports and present to senior-level executives within client organizations.)
Outstanding attention to detail and high personal quality expectations
Superior computer skills (Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, HTML)
Self-directed and self-motivated with a demonstrated work ethic and ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
4-year BA or BS degree (preferably in Marketing, Business Management, Economics, Statistics or other related coursework)
Advanced degree preferred (MBA or advanced coursework in statistics)
The Director of Strategic Services will report to the Vice President of Strategic Services. Positions are currently open in our San Francisco or Seattle offices.
