The Technical Marketing team is responsible for producing collateral which demonstrates the suitability and superior performance and functionality of Ruckus products in competitive environments. As well as having hands-on involvement in this process, the Director of Technical Marketing will; have responsibility for understanding what product/competitor analysis is required by field; ensure resource is suitably allocated to deliver the analysis and; ensure that the analysis results are delivered to the field in a useable format and in a timely fashion.Working in conjunction with Field Sales and Product Management, the types of analysis performed by the Technical Marketing team will include (but are not limited to):
Hands-on lab & real-world testing of competitive enterprise & telco-grade products
Hands-on lab & real-world testing of new Ruckus products
Paper analysis of competitive products relative to product claims, product pricing, product positioning and competitor business models (i.e. Cloud, Leasing, Channels etc.)
Production of collateral of the data gathered in a format suitable for broad distribution
Continued repetition of the above processes to keep the data fresh for the field sales team
Ensuring all new product releases are backed up by suitable performance data and competitive positioning documents
The Director of Technical Marketing will report directly to the VP Marketing. The selected candidate must have a demonstrable track record of success in managing a team and producing competitive data analysis. A sound knowledge of wireless technologies & Wi-Fi specifically is required.
Required experience and knowledge
5+ years of experience in technology marketing
A good knowledge of the enterprise Wi-Fi landscape.
Experience of managing, motivating and growing a team
Demonstrated track record of delivering to an agreed plan
Excellent written & spoken English and an ability to deliver complex messages in an easy to understand manner to a broad audience
Strong presentation and public speaking skills
Experience in a high-growth startup environment preferred
Undergraduate degree in the sciences or engineering
This is a Sunnyvale based position. The selected candidate will be required to travel domestically and internationally from time to time.
