Who We Want:
We are on the hunt for an experienced, professional, and highly motivated Director of Software as a Services (SaaS) Technical Operations. As Director of SaaS Technical Operations you will lead and assist a team charged with ensuring the very best and highest quality SaaS offering is available to our customers. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. Most of all, you must be insanely in tune with cutting edge technologies and proven methodologies which will drive down the cost and complexity of our datacenters, infrastructure and procedures.
The Director of SaaS Technical Operations is a member of the senior leadership team reporting directly to the VP of Technology and is responsible for Bazaarvoice?s datacenters and the multitenant server architecture; development environment, test environment, production environment, processes, hardware, and networking that constitute our operational environment used by multiple technical/engineering teams and hundreds of customers. The SaaS Technical Operations team consists of some of the brightest minds in infrastructure technology today and we are creating a world-class, efficient and customer centric infrastructure to enable rapid and sustainable growth.
You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with engineering and product management counterparts to define product release requirements. You will work with customer service to ensure they are empowered to quickly deploy customers and support those customers post go-live. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for our platform and stability, frequently working with the sales channel and key customers to address their needs.
This position is not your typical "director/management position". Candidates must demonstrate a successful track record of managing both cloud and hosted datacenter operations, procedures and infrastructure for a Software as a Service (SaaS) company operating in very agile, 24/7, enterprise/consumer/public internet environments.
Responsibilities
Define the vision for the future of Bazaarvoice?s SaaS Technical Operations.
Work with staff and other teams in the company to delivery on that vision.
Implement a proven methodology for ensuring innovation and quality are front and center in every action we take.
Be accountable for Bazaarvoice?s datacenters and the multitenant server architecture, development environment, test environment, production environment, processes, hardware, and networking that constitute our operational environment used by dozens of technical/engineering teams and hundreds of customers.
Lead and assist a team that is charged with ensuring the very best and highest quality SaaS offering is available to our customers.
Monitor and report across Bazaarvoice?s Datacenters and Infrastructure.
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
Must be self-motivated, self-reliant, and a self-starter with the ability to achieve broadly communicated objectives under a minimal amount of supervision.
Demonstrate a successful track record of managing datacenter operations, procedures and infrastructure for a SaaS product company.
Have personally developed and deployed, as an individual contributor, serious technology at some point in your career, and can run a large-scale operation with a handful of ?A players?.
Demonstrated ability to implement a proven methodology and supporting technology, procedures and processes to support new customer roll-outs, monitoring, testing and software updates to SaaS offering.
3+ years of proven and successful experience with SaaS Site Operations.
Brilliant in technology.
Computer Science or Engineering degree is preferred.
