Five9 is looking for a Director of Telephony and Networks Engineering to lead a team of motivated individuals in architecting, deploying, and maintaining our telephony and network infrastructure. The team includes architects, network, and telephony engineers located in the US and Russia offices. This position is based in the Corporate Headquarters in San Ramon, CA.Job description:
Lead a global team of telephony and network engineers
Ensure 24x7 on-call escalations for the Network Operations Center (NOC)
Work closely with Development teams to facilitate feature enhancement and bug fixes
Lead design for datacenter and corporate network environments
Facilitate issue resolution and solution design with customers
Initiate infrastructure and service improvement projects
Take lead on outage resolutions
Create and manage department budgets
Review and approve network and telephony related change requests
Lead contract negotiations with Internet and voice carriers
Drive lower cost carrier solutions
Propose and drive proactive network and telephony monitoring solutions
Drive better service availability with carriers
Lead custom VPN, private line, and SIP trunks design and implementation
Facilitate business and technical discussions internally and with customers
Create and enhance intra and inter-departmental processes
Inspire and motivate engineering and operations teams
Requirements to the candidate:
Director level experience in a Network Engineering or Operations related role
3+ years of experience working in a SAAS environment
3+ years of experience with TDM and VoIP
5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco infrastructure
Network and/or telephony architect experience preferred
CCNP or CCIE certification preferred
3+ years of experience in customer focused roles
Hands-on experience with media gateways and SIP proxies preferred
Must have excellent organizational skills
Must have excellent project management skills
Experience with voice monitoring solutions preferred
Experience with PCI compliance preferred
Experience with SOX compliance preferred
Experience managing global teams preferred
