Director of Training Atherotech
The Director of Training at Atherotech will use in-depth clinical and sales knowledge of the relevant disease states, as well as general field-related experience, specific diagnostic tests and marketplace knowledge, to deliver scientific content and sales skill training programs to new and existing Territory Sales Representatives which improve employee and organizational performance. The trainer will work within a support team, made up of regional directors, medical science consultants, and other managerial staff. The trainer will work closely with internal and external staff to ensure best fit and alignment of developed/implemented sales training and other learning programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Management skills and ability to direct others in an adult training setting required.
Working knowledge in adult learning principles/education process preferred.
Ability to command an audience and effectively provide directions to sale representatives to achieve a positive response required.
As approved, conducts regular field visits, working with field staff and management one-on-one or in teams. Provides field consultation, team and/or individual coaching and development; enabling hands-on learning/development support to the assigned employee/management groups.
Works collaboratively with Sales Management to identify, recommend, and implement new, creative, innovative learning & development offerings, techniques, and applications.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelors degree required in education, science, communication or business-related field preferred.
At least 5 years proven experience in diagnostic/pharmaceutical sales, with 10+ years preferred
At least 2 years sales training experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or other related industry
Birmingham based preferred (3-6 nights/ month traveling outside Birmingham)
Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
Excellent computer and keyboard ability with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Demonstrated group facilitation and stand -up presentation skills required.
Ability to perform in high pressure and fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to manage own work load and priorities.
Proficient in operating presentation/media equipment.
