Director of Training Cogent Healthcare
Cogent Healthcare is seeking to add an experienced Director of Training to our corporate team in Brentwood, TN. The Director of Training will be responsible for the development and application of all educational initiatives within Cogent Healthcare including Clinical and Leadership Methodologies that help Cogent Healthcare achieve operational excellence.
Scope of Position
Lead Cogent Employee Development initiatives
Innovate learning and development processes throughout the organization
Advise senior management on workforce development as a means to achieve company goals
Link the hiring process to employee orientation and ongoing enculturation
Goals and Responsibilities
Act as the Director of Training of Cogent Academy and Chief Learning Officer for Cogent Healthcare
Lead strategic planning efforts to define workforce development needs and target training outcomes
Determine training strategies and modalities to achieve target learning outcomes
Define organizational structure, tools, equipment and other resources for Cogent Employee Development initiatives
Secure and manage vendor relationships and external resources to be incorporated into training and development, including the identification of industry best practices
Conduct organizational needs and resource assessments
Assess and manage internal content expertise
Translate our key business drivers into professional competencies for employees at all levels
Develop and implement training and educational programs to meet those competencies
Develop evaluation processes for measuring the effectiveness of training interventions
Improve physician and employee retention and satisfaction
Improve physician and employee performance
Translate a desired organizational culture into training mechanisms
Develop courses / trainings to standardize key positions in the company
Work closely with ongoing systems/process re-engineering to re-train job roles to be more efficient and effective
Respond to employee and client feedback in developing or improving training systems
Education and Competencies
Bachelor?s Degree in Organizational Leadership or Related Field - Required
Master?s Degree ? Preferred
Allied Health Degree preferred but not required (RN, RPT, OTR, SLP, RT, PA, NP)
Strategic thinking as well as detail-minded
Advocate for learning as a business imperative
Great influencing and communication skills
Tailor training environment and offerings to the unique needs of adult learners.
Evaluation: conduct needs assessment of learners and environment, track process and impact outcomes, conduct formative evaluations of trainings
Instructional design: define goals and learning outcomes, select instructional strategies, lead content development, evaluate outcomes.
