Educational & Training Leader Job Description
The successful candidate will be an experienced, passionate educational/training manager who will lead, staff, and manage the entire Education & Training function, which includes training, Onboarding of ne employees, overseeing instructional design, training vendor acquisition, and the general operations of classroom environments for TOA internally (Sales Academy, TOA University) as well as our customers across the globe. Responsibilities include working with Stakeholders to explore training needs/options, ensuring that the training group develops and delivers on-time, best practice, highest quality training solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manages and oversees the instructional design, vendor acquisition, and administrative functions for a training organization.
Lead the group through work related problems and/or obstacles; making hiring decisions creating and delivering performance evaluations; and developing and implementing career development plans.
Works to assess training needs/options and prioritize workload, which may include recommending solutions as well as establishing priorities and manages expectations. Develop 'in-house ' training which include assisting with the development of performance objectives and the formation of the design/development team.
Establishes the strategic direction of the department based on overall Company objectives, and the objectives of the Business Area.
Works to assess learning needs, which includes working with SMEs to determine the learning goals of courses that range in scale, scope, and complexity.
Participates in the new course development process.
Oversees the vendor acquisition process for the selection to meet training needs, which includes understanding the scope of the training requests in order to source the appropriate vendors,
Establishing metrics and measuring the effectiveness
Works with Human Resources and Talent organizations to create detailed plans for the Leadership Development Programs that will allow for the uninterrupted flow of leadership talent at all levels of the organization, which includes making recommendations on how to improve management/leadership development initiatives.
Develops policies and procedures that keep internally developed courses updated and maintained.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor's Degree in a Liberal Arts or Business discipline (Adult Learning or Communications preferred). Candidates with a Master?s degree will receive favorable consideration.
Ten or more years of related work experience, including experience-managing managers.
Related work experience could include instructional design/development, teaching, or responsibilities involving performance improvement initiatives.
This person MUST come from a technology background, ideally Software Company.
Strong management skills, which includes mentoring, coaching, and developing a staff.
The ability to establish the strategic direction of a department.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to interact effectively with others, including senior management and executives.
Excellent computing skills with a strong working knowledge of associated software programs, ideally on an IOS platform
The ability to demonstrate creativity and high performance in everything they do.
Excellent and proven problem solving skill
There is flexibility with the location of this individual, ideally within 2-hour flight from CLE.
