Director of User Experience Acquia

Acquia?s product team is looking for a Director of User Experience. You will be the voice of the customer and drive the user experience of Acquia?s products by uncovering and translating customer goals and needs into actionable requirements/stories. You will work closely with the Director of Product Design as well as numerous product owners, interaction designers, usability specialists and engineers.
We?re immersed in the hottest technologies. We?ve helped companies of all shapes and sizes design, build, maintain and monitor their Drupal website ? and we?re one of Boston?s fastest-growing start-ups. And we?re just warming up!
Responsibilities:
Lead user research projects, including conducting ethnographic research, interviews, focus groups, and analysis. 20 percent travel required.
Work with product owners, interaction designers, usability testers and developers to create user stories, wireframes, information architectures and research and test plans.
Synthesize and integrate findings into product design life-cycle.
Segment and profile customers into tangible archetypes.
Create work models designed to scale as the team, products and company grows.
Contribute to ongoing process improvement, including best practices and standards
Required Skills
10 years of experience planning, conducting, interpreting, combining, explaining and applying customer information from diverse sources in an understandable and useful ways, e.g. focus groups, customer panels, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.
A degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Ethnography, or extensive work in user experience research
Proven ability to work with a variety of product owners, designers, usability testers and developers
Prior experience with statistics and customer analytics tools like Apptegic, KissMetrics, Omniture, etc.
Ability to champion process changes that result in improved customer knowledge.
Solid communication, presentation, influencing and relationship-building skills
Familiarity with the limits and constraints of design for web applications
Familiarity with Agile development.
