PingIdentity is in search of a Director of User Experience to lead a new 5-10 person UX team being created within our product team.
The Director of UX will be responsible for leading the vision, strategy, and delivery of the user experience. The Director will lead a team of interaction designers, visual designers, user researchers and UE Engineers. The UX team is responsible for the design of Ping?s 4 core products: PingOne, CloudDesktop, PingAccess, and PingFederate.
We are looking for candidates with experience in both consumer and B2B UX, including web, desktop, and mobile devices. Evidence of thinking and designing in terms of end-to-end UE, applying strategic thinking and business goals to designs, focusing on user feedback, and understanding the relation of visual design to the interaction are also required.

Provide thought leadership and unifying vision for the user experience and product design for the company. Lead your team to create compelling designs for our set of applications and tools.
Participate in all aspects of user experience design to provide expertise and guidance. This participation will include interaction design, visual design, user research activities, developing design specifications and interactive prototypes.
Evaluate the effectiveness of new and existing UX designs using performance metrics, customer feedback.
Study the competitive landscape, and looking at industry standard best practices in order to continuously evolve and improve the product.
Plan how and when the UX team integrates with the agile development process.
Recruit and retain excellent designers, researchers, and UE engineers. Mentor and lead the team. Plan for future expansion of the UX function to keep pace with the company?s growth.
MS or PhD in Human- Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Human Factors,
Engineering, Psychology or Design.
Minimum of 10 years experience in the industry, including 4+ years as a Director of a comparable UX team. Hands on experience in interaction design required. Hands on experience in either visual design or user research also required.
Personal passion and fervor for industry leading product usability and design excellence.
Experience leading a team successfully within a company using agile development.
Outstanding portfolio that includes web, application, device and/or retail user experiences.
Strong understanding of information architecture and user-centered design methodology. Expertise in a very wide range of user-centered design techniques including requirements gathering, concepts, wireframes, prototypes, usability research, heuristic analysis, task analysis, use cases, personas, field testing,
Expertise in developing and weaving together a strong interaction design, a strong visual design, and a set of research activities that work in concert to produce a seamless, effortless experience.
Ability to coordinate effectively with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and the Executive team.
Ability to ?see through the noise? and frame the problems, identify solutions, and move your team forward.
Excellent team-building and team management skills.
Strong leadership abilities. Decisive. An ability to consistently make the right calls. Concentrates on high priority issues.
