Summary
The NameMedia team is looking for a dynamic, highly motivated Director of User Experience. This person will be responsible for managing a team of creative professionals who are tasked with crafting the experience of software and services that enable consumers and businesses to acquire, monetize and divest their premium domain names.
This individual will be a senior member of the user experience team who works collaboratively with product management, engineering and business stakeholders to define the product experience ? including interactive design, information architecture and navigation. The candidate will be expected to create an aesthetic design, which is appropriate for the market and fitting for the brand. This person will also be involved during the planning and research phases and expected to leverage a user-centered process to iterate design comps with stakeholders directly. All projects should result in an intuitive, simplistic experience appropriate for the desired environmental setting.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders throughout the company to proactively gather and understand customer, partner, and stakeholder needs.
Conduct market research, analyze web usage data, conduct multivariate tests, and conduct user tests to formulate ideas on improving user interface designs.
Compile and maintain a departmental list of product design and feature opportunities to be considered for addition to the list of prioritized projects.
Work with developers, system engineers, and QA engineers throughout the product development, testing, and implementation phases to ensure user interface integrity.
Act as main point of contact for any questions, concerns or suggestions regarding user interface design.
Evaluate and recommend improvements to company processes related to user interface design.
Manage an energetic interactive design team who deliver innovative solutions to complex problems.
Translate requirements into intuitive concepts, sound wireframes, short automated examples and elegant experiences
Create interaction models, user task flows, screen designs, and UI details that promote ease of use and optimize the user experience.
Regularly iterate design concepts directly with consumers on a regular basis to ensure ease-of-use.

User experience expert with at least 10 years of work experience in a user experience design capacity for consumer oriented software products
Expertise in human interface guidelines, standards, and best practices as they apply to platforms
Experience creating personas as tools to represent the needs, desires, skills and environment of one or more classes of real users.
Recognized self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced environment and seeks the challenge of winning in a rapidly changing marketplace.
Results-oriented team player with strong leadership presence

A deep appreciation for simple solutions to complex problems
An outstanding body of work demonstrating the successful delivery of innovative digital interface design solutions for the software, web and mobile devices.
Solid understanding of user research techniques and ability to work with an independent team to assess interactive prototypes
Strong written and oral communication
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Experience with social media, community and web services or applications.
Expertise in modern software development processes and concepts as they relate to user experience.
5 yrs+ management experience in User Experience strongly desired.
Technology Experience:
Must have extensive experience with CSS, X/HTML, JavaScript, AJAX and DOM scripting.
Strong jQuery experience preferred.
Experience with JSP, JSTL, JSF and taglibs preferred.
PHP knowledge a plus.
Education:
BA or MA in Interaction Design, Cognitive Science, HCI, or equivalent experience
