Content Team Description
The goal of this team is to bring in video content for the TownSpot website. While TownSpot is a user-generated website, since we just started, we need Content Producers/Directors of Content Acquisition to reach out to content creators in Los Angeles, explaining the idea of TownSpot and why they should submit their videos. Videos on TownSpot don't need to be exclusive to our website, so even if the video is posted elsewhere, we'd love for them to post it on TownSpot. It just needs to be a video from the Los Angeles/Southern California area and needs to showcase Quality!
Job Description
Overview
This will not be your typical position. Assisting in the development of a major video network system, you will be an integral aspect to the growth of our company.
This is a 10 hour - 20 hour per week position (we're flexible based off your desires up to Half-time work) which you can work out of your own location for!
Your job will be reaching out to content creators (an ideal candidate has connections to people whom make videos here in LA) otherwise your time will be spent researching creators in LA and reaching out to them via phone/email/events etc and then guiding them through the upload process if necessary.
This allows you the opportunity for other work as well and it doesn't preclude you from any other working situation.
You will also have access to various email scripts, spreadsheets, and team resources currently used to seek out content & introduce TownSpot to content creators.
Our ideal candidate will be an individual with connections to people who create online videos here in Los Angeles (webseries, music videos, art, sports, etc.) who can get their connections to submit their videos onto TownSpot.
We are looking for individuals with the self-motivation to reach out to video creators (new and existing) and promote TownSpot to local content creators. You must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, an entrepreneurial attitude, proficient problem solving skills, and, most importantly, a commitment to driving content to our site.
Responsibilities
You will be a community spokesperson for TownSpot, reaching out to these content creators (personal contacts, research, etc.) and working with them to upload their content onto TownSpot.
Why Should they upload?
- Local Audience: Other video websites are great and it's awesome to increase global exposure, but by having their video on TownSpot, it increases their local community fan base..you know like the people who will go see their next in-person show, or hire them to direct their next project, etc.
- Not Exclusive (Keep Videos Elsewhere too): If their video is already up on other video websites, that's fine, keep it there too.
- Quality Content: Their video is a part of a network where not just any video can be uploaded, but rather everything has been reviewed as quality, meaning their video stands out above the rest.
- Revenue Sharing: Just like any other video website, if their video hits more than 5000 unique views, we'll revenue share.
- Why Not? There's no loss of any kind aside from the few minutes it'll take them to upload. There's no downside of any kind!
Your duties will consist of researching or utilizing your connections to determine people with videos that are of quality in Los Angeles, then making the initial connection, leading each person from introduction to actually uploading their video onto our site, and providing guidance for any questions they may ask you.
So essentially: Research/Find, Contact, Follow-Up, Ensure Upload.
Responsible for an average of 7 new videos being uploaded to TownSpot per week. (thats just 1 per day)
Be passionate and determined and willing to exceed expectations wherever possible.
Customer relations. Your goal is to pitch TownSpot and get them to upload their content.
Provide a weekly email status report summarizing your contacts for the week.
Research/Discover Los Angeles videos on other video websites to reach out to those creators.
Provide ideas for alternative ways to increase the amount of video content on our website.
Incentives will be given to those who believe they can bring in significantly more than 7 videos per week.
Requirements
Ideally Los Angeles based, or if not in Los Angeles, need to prove that you either have connections to people who make internet videos in LA, or that you can adequately research and find LA Content Creators.
Have a strong desire for quality entertainment videos
Highly professional
Entrepreneurial leadership
Excellent at promoting, since essentially that's what your job is. Promote and acquire content.
Great at working alone, as well as on a team. This is a very much freelance work on your own as long as you meet the quota position, however you will have access to other people for support if needed.
Exceptional personal communication skills.
Self motivated, results driven
Highly interested in Online Video.
Confident in being able to bring in videos.
Compensation
This position is 10-20 hours per week at $10/hour for a maximum of 20 hours per week. This rate is given IN ADDITION to stock options in the company.
To Apply
Send your cover letter containing why you're interested in this position, any connections to LA video content creators you may have, and Most Importantly how many videos you think you'll be able to bring in weekly as well as confirm that you've watched our animation at http://www.townspot.tv/what-is-townspot so that you know what our website is all about.
Send your cover letter to content@townspot.tv
We are ready to start hiring immediately, and will be making decisions quickly.

| Company Profile: | With all of the content and video websites out there on the web, what makes TownSpot different
Well, as a video network and as a business, we strive for quality and connecting with our audience on a real level. No gimmicks, no ploys, just quality content reflective of your town and your community. What makes us different
See for yourself at www.townspot.tv
1. Quality
All videos are verified by our staff as quality, per the TownSpot Content Policy.
Most people watch online videos due to some kind of referral. You are more inclined to view something shared by a friend because you trust their judgement. Well, TownSpot is like that friend whom you can rely on to bring you great videos that are actually relevant to you and your city. Trust us.
2. Local
Videos originate from your city. The talent is local.
There is a large sense of disassociation out on the web today. We watch content without really connecting. TownSpot aims to give you a more dynamic viewing experience by showing you content from your city that is actually within your grasp. Explore and connect with your city's talent. What you see on TownSpot today, could open a new adventure tomorrow.
3. Relevant Advertisements
We show ads relative to your interest and your community.
Advertisements shown on TownSpot pertain to your city. We target our ads based on your interest so that you see real businesses offering products and services you actually want. Find a local restaurant, or a cool new store, or a fun activity. At TownSpot, our ads contribute to the experience instead of taking away from it. We offer a way for local small businesses to advertise online directly to their local customer base.
4. Intuitive Navigation
Categories and genres help make searching for a video that interests you intuitive and easy.
Browsing through endless videos that have nothing to do with your interest can be a pain. Not to mention having to suffer through "tags" where people tag their video with random not applicable tags just to drive views to them. With our Discover browsing setup, you can find videos based on not just categories, but genres, sub-genres, buzz, release date, and more. And since all the videos are examined and organized by TownSpot staff, you'll always be able to find videos for your interests.
5. Experience
We focus on giving you the best viewing experience possible. You want to get straight to the content that interests you, we understand. You want your viewing of content to be as uninterrupted as possible. We don't have annoying pop-up ads, or things that disrupt your video once it's started playing. At TownSpot, it's all about showing you your city's talent
