Director of Web Application Development
Develops and leadcs Manta's highly skilled and motivated Web engineering team developing a world class Web scale platform.
Recruits and manages highly skilled and motivated Web engineering talent.
Manages, guides and mentors technology team managers and leads.
Works closely with product management executives and team to formulate product roadmaps and ensures appropriate system designs, resources, skills and team function to implement roadmaps.
Works closely with peers and direct reports planning and implementing Web scale architectures and driving continuous improvement through Web development lifecycle best practices. Thrives in a fast paced, innovative, collaborative environment.

Director of Web Application Development
Lead Manta's global web application development teams and provide a rewarding work environment for our Web Applications engineering team, fostering community and leading through example.
Hires, manages, mentors and retains outstanding Web development talent and build high performing technology teams
Applies management skills and experience to mentor and coach team managers and leads
Provide strong expertise to identify and translate product roadmaps and business requirements into software architectures, system designs and project plans.
Manages teams to deliver high quality web applications on time.
Manage teams to oversee the development, integration, testing and deployment efforts and supports teams throughout quality assurance processes.
Ensures appropriate structuring of projects, appropriate timeboxing and ensuring accurate technical estimation of scope.
Understands and applies agile software development methodologies and best practices.
Applies software engineering best practices such as code reviews, defect tracking, source code control, test driven development and software release systems to deliver high-quality software
Performs problem analysis (identify root causes, outline resolution options, and take appropriate actions to resolve problems)
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
10+ years of relevant hands-on technology management, web application architecture and engineering experience; technical management experience of Web developers, systems administrators/architects, as well as a record of individual technical achievement
In-depth understanding of key Web scale architectures and concepts including Restful API's SOA, MVC3, queuing systems
Expert-level knowledge of object-oriented design concepts, data storage implementations and web design patterns
Experienced working on UNIX/Linux platforms and leading open source systems and tools including leading open source data and search platforms such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Hadoop, Lucene/Solr
Experience with adapting Agile development methodologies to meet organizational needs
Ability to manage and prioritize own workload
Motivated, intelligent and team-oriented leader who thrives in fast paced, intellectually challenging environments, enjoys solving problems and is passionate about working with team members to create high-quality, leading edge web solutions
Capable of technical deep-dives into architecture, code, networking, operating systems and storage yet verbally and cognitively agile enough to hold their own in a strategy discussion with Manta's executive team.
Demonstrated ability to be a team player as well as an independent performer
Strong verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills - able to translate complex concepts into easily understood explanations
